• Preparation of Budget and rolling forecast;
• During the demerger transition of ICI Paints from ICI Pakistan I was responsible to handle the transfer of all the retiring funds;
• Established independent financial reporting of five retiring funds as separate Trusts;
• Managing investments portfolio and liquidity of the retiring funds through forecasting;
• Reporting to senior management about investment returns and cash positions;
• Managing the main treasury operations of the company for liquidity management through forecasting models;
• Negotiating with banks for higher returns on surplus cash investments and on exchange rates for foreign remittances and payments;
• Preparing Bank reconciliation and following up with banks for any pending issues;
• Preparing GL schedules like for loans and advances, other payables, other receivables, etc;
• Processing salaries and vendor invoices;
• Managing and updating credit limits to customers in accordance with policy;
• Preparing monthly bad debts provisions schedules;
• Handling discounts to customers through credit notes;
• Liaising with sales department on issues of credit control;
• At times, responsible for cash office for handling physical cash and liquidity for petty cash transaction and posting collections in SAP.
Core responsibilities included:
- Performing financial analysis on around fifty major companies of Pakistan for sixteen consecutive quarters;
As an initiative, preparing and designing a daily (morning) report to senior management and clients about previous day's activity in KSE and international commodities market and factors that could affect the present day share prices;
- Supporting senior equity analyst in share valuation analysis at times.
As a team member I was involved in annual (statutory) audit of Rupali Group of Industries
- Documentation of formal audit files;
- Verifying past transactions through vouching and bank statements;
- Reconciling banks, customers and suppliers' balances with the client's balances;
- Involved in preparation/reporting of management letter to the senior management of the clients concluding audit points.
