The DOHA METRO is a future metro network of the city of Doha (QATAR), to be implemented in different phases. THALES is providing the “Telecommunication & Supervision System (TSS)” along the Red, Green, Golden & Blue line sections of phase1, including remote operations from the Integrated Control Center (ICC) and the Emergency Control Center (ECC).
Thales will supervise data from different Interfaces using Moxa DA-682 A “Industrial Embaded Computer” include but not limited to Energy(ENR), Tunnel Ventilation system (TVS), Plate screen door system (PSD), Bacs, Bulk power system (BPS) etc.
Job Responsibilities/Contribution:
• The following responsibilities but not limited to
•Pre-commissioning works (checking the RTUs, terminations and wiring (Optical fiber/Cat6) in both the local cabinet and between 3rd parties against schedules and ePlans)
•Leading testing of all IO points between 3rd party equipment to the RTU and assisting of testing of all IO to the Central Management System at the Route Control Centre.
•Completing the test specifications, ensuring all issues are raised and, where possible, fixed on site using the Change Control procedure.
•Check interfaces between SCADA package and others (Energy, Tunnal ventilation system, AFC, BACS, PSD etc)
•Checking of the IEC-104 communication link from site to ICC/ECC and verification as per the design.
•Configuration Moxa DA-682 A “Industrial Embedded Computer” for Substation power supply and Traction Power supply testing and commissioning. Substation power system include 33kv line, Auto transformer, Aux transformer, Battery and UPS system
•Platform Screen Door testing and commissioning (Monitoring test & degraded tests)
•Coordinate the interfaces between PSCADA and Power Supply equipment with Power Supply Engineer, for issues in the I/O List
•220/132 Kv Bulk Power System testing and commissioning (Integration with Siemens PMS)
•Coordination with different interfaces team for Precommissioning, Shutdown, updates and modifications at site.
•Follow the Quality & safety Process to ensure the SIL 2m & 2c testing for Energy.
•Preparation of Final report for submission to the client.
•Testing of Weather station (VAISALA) and Earthquake (DATAKOM) Sensor with SCADA.
•Test Report preparation for Energy, TVS, BACS, IT, Sensors etc.
•Timely and accurate progress reporting.
Power Factor Correction Project in Southern Region (KSA)
•Installation & integration of ABB RTU System.
•Replacement Of CEWE transducers.
•Holding progress meetings and other meetings - recording accurate actions.

The following responsibilities but not limited to
•Provide technical and commercial solution on selection and evaluation of Control system, field instrumentation
Prepared, reviewed and/or modified of engineering documents such as System drawings, data sheets, bill of materials, cable schedule lists, GA & wiring diagrams, evaluation and selection of vendors, including liaising with clients, suppliers and contractors.
•Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) panels designing, assembling and programming.
•Survey, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of SCADA/RTU as per the requirement of the Customers or utility.
•Maintain and update automation system complying with latest safety rules.
•Prepare engineering technical solutions and client test procedure or Solution requirements.
•Co-ordination with Designers and Draftsmen to prepare models and drawings
•Co-ordination with Electrical design engineers for the interface requirements
•Managed all resources efficiently including third parties to ensure all the project time line are met.
•Reporting to the managers and schedule of SCADA/RTU activities.
•Marketing and Business development relation with integration Companies for Mikronika RTU/DMS System.
•Follow up with different utilities for documents approvals.
•Tender / offer preparation of control protection, power communication and scada/automation system.
•Having the ability to produce detailed technical specifications from client requirements and make solution as per the compliance. Experienced in reviewing and preparing quotation submissions for EPC automation - utilities contracts in a systematic manner
•After sale coordinate repair or Maintain (Preventive and corrective) plus supervise defective equipment returns.
•Negotiations with client on technical & commercial issues.

•Attend trade shows, exhibitions, conferences & other marketing event for the demonstration and presentation of Micronika product.

Site Surveys
Conducted Site Surveys on 500/220/132kV substations, making room layouts of Control Room, Relay and Battery Room for design purpose and panel installation
• Adaptation work Designing
Performed re-engineering on existing schematic drawings for Adaptation, Design work, Instrumentation of Circuit Breaker and Transformer Tap Changer. Provided Status of Bus and Line isolators, Earthling switches. Design work on existing CT/VT circuits for Telemetry purpose RTU & SIC Interfacing.
Interfaced MiCOM C-264 RTU and SCADA Interconnection. Generated Cable list & developed a tool for calculating BOQ, BOM for every substation
• Installation
Installed RTU, SIC, Battery Bank, 48VDC Charger and DC distribution board along with complete cabling. Mounting Finder relays in Control and Protection panels for telemetry of status and protection alarms. Assigned and monitored daily or weekly task for a team of Subcontractor. Performed routine Inspection for Quality of work at substations as per client specifications and contract details
• Pre- Commissioning
To ensure no pending issue was left from earlier Phases of work, for smooth execution during commissioning. Performed “Point to Point” Test before connecting to process. Downloaded database to “MiCOM C-264 RTU” to perform system integration & internal testing of alarm as per contract
• Commissioning
Performed commissioning on earlier design work at AIS/ GIS Substations, providing remote control of Circuit Breakers & Transformer Tap changer through operations from SCADA/ DMS Software. Configured and Tested current/voltage transducers to process for telemetry of Active/Reactive Power and current on 500/220/132kV Transmission Lines and Transformer bays. Traced down all set of Line and Transformer Protection alarms, Breaker Failure alarms from Relay room and updated it on Database to be monitored from remote end on Central SCADA system
