Responsibilities:
● Responsible for the design, implementation, operation, maintenance and security of telecommunication systems and networks at substations within the company's infrastructure.
● Manage installation, operation, maintenance & testing at the Substations in terms of the telecom network.
● Oversee operation, maintenance and commissioning of PDH, SDH, DWDM, MPLS-TP, PAX, LAN/WAN, CCTV, UGNFOC OPGW, for the Substations.
● Plan the deployment of telecommunication networks, including the selection of appropriate technologies, equipment, and configurations to meet the company's operational needs efficiently.
● Manage tele protection equipment and media converters at substations to ensure the reliability and security of the telecom infrastructure.
● Responsible for monitoring the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems at the control center to facilitate effective management and control of substations without interruption.
● Configure E&M, FXS (Foreign Exchange Station), FXO (Foreign Exchange Office), and RAC (Remote Access Concentrator) channels based on specific operational requirements.
● Proactively identify faults, troubleshoot issues and restore faults in the telecom network, equipment and tele protection systems in coordination with Network Management Systems (NMS) and Control Room Command Center (CRCC).
● Collaborate with the projects department and contractors for the construction of new substations and modifications to the telecom network and equipment. Manage outage schedules and ensure adherence to safety standards.
● Issuing LOAs for contractors to access and work at substations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols, such as the five-star safety standards.
● Monitor the performance of telecommunication systems, and identify and resolve issues such as network congestion, signal interference, and equipment malfunction to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
● Implement security measures to protect telecommunication systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
● Generate reports on network performance, maintenance activities and future upgrade requirements.
