Trained under the Nutrition Department at Rashid Hospital to handle ICU cases and Burns for a period of 4 months.
Worked initially as a clinical dietitian as part of the clinical nutrition department. During this team I did wards with doctors in Kuwait Hospital and Al-Qassimi hospital including Medical wards (which have cases such as CVD, diabetes), surgical wards (which have pre and post surgery recovery, wound healing, bariatric surgery and cases such as gallbladder stones, and pancreatitis), Pediatric ward (including cases of failure to thrive, type 1 diabetes, G6PD, and other congenital conditions), Maternity ward (mostly gestational diabetes), and the Dialysis unit handling various Chronic kidney failure cases. I also ran a clinic during my rotation where the majority of the patients were pre or post bariatric surgery with other various conditions including weight loss, and diabetes care.
Afterwards I was chosen to be part of the diabetes department where 2 days a week I did rotations with the endocrinologist to see hyper/hypo thyroid cases and diabetic cases. I was also responsible for a dietitians clinic where days were set for diabetes and thyroid. I was also selected to be the educational dietitian of the cardiac rehabilitation unit.
During my time with the Diabetes department I was tasked with multiple studies and projects including creating a 12 week diabetes educational program (along with a diabetes educator) which had amazing results on the patients who participated. Other projects included preparing hospital events for diabetes day, nutrition day, etc. and conducting a yearly study on the hospital employees to see the risk of developing diabetes.
Trained at Latifa Hospital and Dubai Hospital 2 days a week on various medical conditions.
