• Leads a team of Material Engineers, Inventory controllers, WHSE supervisor & technicians to provide Material services on the site. Performs supervisory functions at the level established by management for the position.
• Coordinates with users, warehouse and Inventory Control personnel to ensure that site materials are adequately stocked, that materials reservations are segregated, tagged and preserved as required and that materials requirements are promptly furnished through inter-store materials transfer operation. Provides materials transfers authorization to subordinates as needed.
• Takes the responsibility for the availability of spare parts and other materials when required to reduce or prevent the downtime of plant equipment.
• Acts as the focal point with the procurement unit to expedite material requirements.
• Leads the team that analyzes the material usage and adjusts the re-order level, maximum level, Carryout the ABC analysis and give recommendation accordingly. Check slow moving items and co-ordinates with end users for possible obsolesce or surplus. Leads a team for internal auditing of the stock holdings. Up-dating Lead-time, and PR Generation & release in SAP
• Recommends warehousing plans, programs, policies and standards to cover and ensure efficient storage facilities, materials rearrangement and stocking, materials handling requirements, etc. Reviews and amends policies and work programs continuously as required and ensures proper implementation.
• Supervises and controls the receipt, identification, inspection, storage and handling of equipment, materials and spare parts; finalizes reports on status of materials received, payment approval, etc. and dispatches to concerned department; and ensures that movement details of materials are correctly recorded and updated to reflect all materials receiving/issuing transactions.
