• Ensuring all Process Engineering Department personnel are adequately trained and competent to meet or exceed company standards.
• Collaborating with the Production group and making recommendations for process changes to achieve established targets related to production tonnage, plant energy efficiency and plant outages
• Working very closely and collaboratively with the Production, Maintenance and HSE Departments to address plant EHS and operational issues.
• Working collaboratively with the Production and Maintenance Departments to continuously improve plant competitive position in the Methanol industry.
• Supporting the development of the annual budget with emphasis on production rates and energy efficiency
• Leading or participating in safety audits of the facility, Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) of existing facilities and new projects, root cause investigations of incidents and identifying corrective actions
• Participating as an integral member of the site process and reliability team
• Performing QC check of Sustainability footprint data and calculations.
• Developing and maintaining templates to calculate and track footprints.
• Preparing yearly strategy and work-plan to achieve the targets. Capture and ensure implementation of the best practices across the site.
• Initiating and suggesting ideas and projects to improve Sustainability footprint.
• Following up and supporting Sustainability related projects progress
• Coordinating trainings, seminars and campaigns to train focal Engineers and enhance awareness.
• Supporting focal Engineers for monthly, quarterly and yearly KPI’s data entry and calculations
• Performing Sustainability footprint impact assessment for any major or minor projects.
• Coordinating/Facilitating audits of the Sustainability Footprint elements. Reporting results and following up actions to the Management.
• Coordinating and facilitating data gathering of Sustainability/Energy related assessment required for regulatory and other requirements agency such as SEEC (Saudi Energy Efficiency Centre)
• Leading, supervising and overseeing the development of a team of process engineers through one-on-one coaching and mentorship.
• Collaborating with the Production group and making recommendations for process changes (PCR) to achieve established targets related to production tonnage, plant energy efficiency and plant outages.
• Monitoring performance of individual plant equipment including Reformer, Reactors, Turbines, Compressors, Heat exchangers and making recommendations for equipment maintenance or replacement to improve performance.
• Supporting the development of plant operating procedures.
• Involving in the development of the annual budget with emphasis on production rates and energy efficiency.
• Providing process engineering support and input for plant change requests (PCR) and major capital projects, including operational changes, improvements and justifications for change.
• Lead or participate in safety audits of the facility, Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) of existing facilities and new projects, root cause (RCA) investigations of incidents and identification of corrective actions.
• Participate as an integral member of the site reliability team
• Providing engineering services and specialized technical assistance through technical study request (TSRQ) and plant change request (PCR).
• Daily monitoring of material & energy balance and unit consumptions.
• Troubleshooting of various unit operations.
• Investigating plant trips/shut-downs and leading root cause analysis (RCA).
• Process simulation & calculations using PRO II.
• Reviewing Process Data Sheet for equipment.
• Monitoring performance of individual plant equipment including Reformer, Reactors, Turbines, Compressors, Heat exchangers and making recommendations for equipment maintenance or replacement to improve performance.
• Performance monitoring of catalyst.
• Supervising catalyst loading, unloading and reduction activities.
• Reviewing Process Design Package, Basic and Detailed Engineering Package.
• Daily performance monitoring, troubleshooting, carryout modifications, optimization activities, etc.
• Operations Management of 1100 MT/D Ammonia Plant.
• Ensuring equipment availability and releasing equipment for maintenance.
• Raw materials planning requirement and product quality control.
• Preparing pre-commissioning/commissioning process checklists. Loop & control logic checking. Leak test/purging/venting/flushing/purging and system preparation.
• Commissioning of revamped Ammonia Plant.
• Overseeing operation control of equipment like Reformer, Catalytic Convertors, Turbines, Compressors, Cooling Towers, etc.
