The broad remit included the following duties:-
• Responsible for the leadership of the Team Members, who are performing vehicle moves to escort the clients to various locations and are providing security at the oil sites
• Delivering mission briefings to PSD Team Members and the Clients prior to mission execution
• Provide training to the team, with the focus on bringing standardization in order to negate previous conflicting training methods and enhancing their capacity to perform the PSD role
• Conduct reconnaissance on pending sites and adjust plans accordingly
• Perform the Team Medic function throughout all assigned missions
• Complete the team administration and reports
• Ensure that the team-issued weaponry, equipment and vehicles are maintained in accordance with the SOPs
Additional Duties
Would be selected to conduct the duties of Rig Site Manager for a 2-month period, with direct responsibility for the day-to-day management, welfare and training of a 30-man Local National Guard Force. Initially found that the Guard Force lacked motivation, which was addressed through placing focus on team building and training exercises.
CLOSE PROTECTION OPERATOR

• Close Protection Operator tasked with providing CP for various clients including British Embassy staff, Diplomats and Ministers from the FCO, Department for International Development, USAID, European Police, VIP's, Stabilization advisors, and high-ranking USA & UK Military mentors
• Rotated through the various CP duties, such as Lead Driver, Commander, Team Medic, and Rear Observer on missions that were taking place across a highly kinetic region
• Performed the IBG role on behalf of various clients, which on occasions would include spending 9 weeks operating from small Patrol Bases (PBs)
• Carried out the reconnaissance on pending venues with the team and on occasions with the military
• Supported the TL in all aspects of the daily team administration, training and other duties, such as assisting the new members of the team who had joined the contract
• Frequently covered the TL remit during leave rotation, which included planning the operations, briefing the clients and team, and completing the requisite reports
2009/2010 - Operated in the UK CP industry before making the transition to the Hostile Environment sector

Below are highlights of the operational deployments:-
• Iraq (Op Telic 9) - Section Commander responsible for leading the team during numerous patrols and operations, and provided armed CP for high-ranking officers and visiting VIPs
• Kosovo (Op Oculus) - Deployed as a member of the Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Task Force (ISR TF) and took part in numerous missions in order to monitor suspects
• Iraq (Op Telic 2) - Responsible for conducting various duties, including providing armed protection for high-ranking officers and delivering training to the Iraqi Armed Forces
