Managing a portfolio of station and car park construction projects, ensuring that these are delivered within budget, to programme and to First Group Property governance procedures.
Working closely with HS2 Ltd, managing the design development for a new depot facility (like-for-like replacement) previously located at Old Oak Common. Responsible for the complete technical and design element of the project, from early feasibility to option selection and outline design. Heading up design meetings and workshops, working alongside the client and the Department for Transport. Managing the interface between the design team and internal engineering team. Leading the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for the project, providing high level feasibility studies and cost estimates. Instrumental in cost analysis/cost reporting while implementing and maintaining HSQE and management procedures.
Responsible for the design, development and roll-out of Project Management governance (LU PMF and TfL Pathway) on a delivery directorate with £2.2bn annual spend; providing Project Managers with tools and shared resources to manage their activities. Enabled a culture switch to win buy-in from senior stakeholders, created & streamlined delivery, operations & maintenance processes, coached Senior Managers to use Project Management best practices to run their operations, assisted the Director of Delivery in formulating a successful strategy, and presenting it to the board. Improved maturity score of the organisation from Level 0.7 to Level 3, using the OGC P3M3 maturity model and demonstrating efficiencies in the process.

for various schemes within the West Coast Route Modernisation programme. Key responsibilities include: Development (identification and management of scope to agreed schedule and budget) of key projects, enhancements and/or renewals, from clients remit through feasibility and option selection to Approval in Principal - GRIP 4. Management of all key stakeholders, internal (NR Route and Territory, etc) and external (DfT, local authorities, etc). Integration of schemes within the overall WCRM programme. Management of budget and authority. Management of scope and requirements of projects through detailed design, implementation and completion (GRIP stages 5 to 8). Chair Stage Gate reviews as per GRIP.
Projects include:
•Bletchley Station Re-signalling and Re-modelling - £200m upgrade of the Bletchley Power Signal Box control area. Work included re-signalling, track layout rationalisation and platform extensions.
for the outline design phase of the Crossrail MDC1 contract on the surface railway from Paddington to Maidenhead and Stratford to Shenfield. Responsible for defining the project scope, cost and risk. Responsibilities included: strategy and programme definition, co-ordination of activities within the two functional teams, resource management, progress monitoring, interfacing to external stakeholders including client project and sponsor teams to ensure requirements were fully understood and obtaining necessary approvals. Established a comprehensive scope definition for the project while meeting sponsor's requirements and developed close relationship with the client.
Management of major projects within the regional offices of Scott Wilson. Ensuring consistent high-quality delivery of project management and engineering activities to ensure added value for the client. Managed project definition, concept design, detailed design and construction phases for numerous rail projects. Worked on risk analysis, procurement plans, design management, contract preparation, negotiations and award, environmental reviews; planning & scheduling; liaison with various authorities on behalf of client in obtaining various approvals including planning, environmental and regulatory approvals as required.
