Having knowledge of, and providing secretarial cover for, various departments and sectors of Law within the firm. These include Dispute Resolution Group, Corporate Law, Banking and Finance, Employment Law, Intellectual Property and Construction.

- Amending documents to include changes made by case handlers and putting them into our relevant house style.

- Preparing Pitch documents for initial meetings with potential new clients.

- Opening new matters and completing the relevant case registration forms and KYC forms.

- Preparing correspondence including invoice letters and thereafter sending them out to the client on behalf of the case handler.

- Preparing Court bundles and other document bundles ranging from client documents to general working files for the case handler's records.

- Preparing power point presentations to sometimes include animations and effects.

- Photocopying, binding and scanning documents as required.

- Completing dictation using Bighand audio typing package. This includes documents such as letters, file notes, transcriptions and witness statements.

- Copy typing documents with precision and accuracy.

- Liaising with our travel company to arrange flights and accommodation for case handler's business trips. I also book a driver on regular occasions to take case handlers to client meetings.

- Booking client meetings, arranging conference calls and, thereafter, sending out the relevant calendar invitations.

- Maintaining case handler's diaries and making sure they keep to their schedule.

- I also work overtime at least once a week covering the 'Night Secretary' role. When on night secretary, not only do I have to complete all tasks given but I also have to answer the reception switchboard which gets diverted to my line.

- As I am a float secretary I am one of the only secretaries in our firm who knows most case handlers and other secretaries well. I have great people skills and I am confident to go into any department and fit into their team.
