The Main Purpose of the role:
To ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Infrastructure in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT Infrastructure -related activities of the UAE unit, as well as provide support for daily operational activities of the IT Infrastructure and user base in UAE
The main areas of responsibility:
• Contribute to and maintain system standards
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
• Perform regular file archival as necessary
• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
• Oversee the administration and maintenance of computer stations and software for the assigned user base
• Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
• Ensure optimal use, maintenance & administration of IT Infrastructure
• Provide proactive IT user support to a user base, currently spread across Dubai & Abu Dhabi (Pan Emirates)
• Keep inventory of all IT equipment as per specified standards
• Ensure streamlined multi-tiered backups
• Manage, monitor and guide team members (if any assigned) on a constant basis
• Ensure optimal service levels in line with Regional IT directives
• Ensure strict compliance to corporate IT policy & guidelines
• Keep IT management constantly informed of any risks, issues & improvements needed




Dimensions of the Job (targets):
• Ensure all assigned tasks are implemented in accordance with the agreed plan and remain on time and within budget
• Assist in the annual budgeting process by estimating costs and expenditure for the local unit
• Keep track of idle assets and escalate to Regional IT Infrastructure Manager for disposals through Finance Department
• Track Service Levels Provided by 3rd parties and provide detailed report to IT management as needed
• Creation and maintenance of relevant IT infrastructure documentation in line with Regional & Corporate directives
• Ensure that all relevant parties are kept up to date with regard to the ongoing progress of day to day activities and assigned projects
• Plan local IT hardware contract renewals and changes well in advance of deadlines
• Ensure that Company policies for procurement, contracts, and capital authorization are complied with
• Allocate all necessary effort and resources to ensure downtime of any system is kept to a minimum, assigned SLA’s are met and to pre-plan and communicate planned downtime to minimize business disruption
• Undertake problem resolution initiatives with area of responsibility to ensure that the number of “incidents” are reduced
• Maintain IT asset inventory for UAE& track warranties, useful life and maintain spares and backup equipment always
• Accountable along with Regional IT to ensure security of all equipment including server rooms
