FDOT-Florida Freight Advisory Committee/-present
Executive Affiliate State of FL
By actively participating as an Executive Affiliate to the advisory committee (FLFAC), I support the Board in cooperation with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as an advisor to the Department’s multimodal freight planning. As with the board, I add value to freight activities and strengthen the State’s position to be the primary freight hub in the United States. Consistent with Moving Ahead for Progress In thest Century (MAP-) and Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, the FLFAC consists of a cross-sectional representation of public and private sector, freight Stake Holders, which includes representatives of ports, shippers, carriers, freight-related associations, the freight industry workforce, the FDOT and local governments. We are working on establishing a new Highway Freight Program (NHFP) to improve the efficient movement of freight on the National Highway Freight Network and support several goals; Florida portion of the NHFP funding is approximately $ million which requires development of the State Plan to obligate funds.

Metropolitan Planning Org. Transportation Study Citizens Advisory Committee/-present
Committee Member Pinellas County, FL

Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) - assists the MPO by providing input to the transportation planning process that reflects citizens’ views and interests. The members represent the county’s municipalities and the county as a whole. Advisory committee members provide input to the MPO to help advisory board meeting identify and address transportation planning issues. To achieve a broad representation of ideas and perspectives, members are drawn from three categories: citizens, professionals (technical, social service, law enforcement, municipal agencies, etc.), and policy (elected officials). As CAC Member in this Transportation Research Study I worked on different plans by prioritizing Florida’s Department of Transportation for the local county Transit Authorities future transit plans; such as creating new routes for the transit system while implementing safety policies and requirements. Securing “land projects” for the County’s upcoming light rail systems. Most recent and biggest project I am involved with Regional Transit Feasibility plan which was recently introduced by Jacobs Engineering and is about the new premium transit system it would unite Tri County Transit areas, which will serve our region today while supporting tomorrow’s growth for better and safer transit in Tampa Bay.
