•Responsible for the FTTx New Design validation into NE-TOOL as per STC Guidelines, submitted by Planning Department through STC ISOW System.
•Responsible for QA & QC for the OSP Designs for HBU, EBU and Mobile back Hauling on GPON (FTTM) into NE-TOOL.
•Explanation of New Design Guidelines and Procedures issued from H/Q to Regional Design Team.
•Validation of FTTx Granites such that No Overlapping of Fiber connections occur and assurance of Correct CLLI Codes for Each FTTx Customer.
•Responsible for the QC/QA for the AS-BUILTS submitted by Implementation Contractors through STC's NPTS System.
•Responsible for resolving the Design and Implementation issues related to NE-TOOL with the District Managers and Regional Control Managers.
•Training to New Designers as per request from the District Managers for Different Projects on the NE-TOOL
Operation and Maintenance of the National Backbone Optical Fiber Cable (Long Distance National Links), covering a length of almost 500Kms in the Southern Region of Pakistan.
The Optical Fiber Cable carrying following stat-of-the-art 10G and 2.5G Transmission Systems based on SDH / DWDM Transmission Techniques:

8. Optical Regenerators and Repeaters (Nine in numbers)
• Localization of High Loss Joints and sections for the improvement of the Optical Fiber Link Losses between Repeaters and OLAs, using OTDR(JDSU), Source Meter, Power Meter, Fiber Identifiers, VFL and Fiber Scope.
• Laying of Optical Fiber Cables and Installation / commissioning of OLT/ONUs/ Transmission Sites related to FTTC/FTTB in PTCL Local Access Network for the new Triple-Play Services and V5.2 Interfaces using Huawei OLT MD5500.
• Relocation of Optical fiber Transmission Equipments (OLA / Repeaters / Terminals) as per Planning Wing designs.
• Training to new staff for the Optical fiber Cable Preparation, Fiber Splicing, Use of OTDR, Source Meter, Power Meter, Optical Attenuators, Numbering of fibers and calibration of Test Equipments.
• Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures for the field staff for the safe and efficient use of Test Equipments without putting expensive equipments into danger of High Power Optical signals.
• Mobilization of O&M Teams for the rectification of system and Cable Faults round the clock.
• Preparation and updating of Fiber Ring Diagram after any introduction / removal of joints with the re-calculation of Power Losses at each section.
• All the above activities of Plant Maintenance and development are being carried out using Siemens AG SAP NLM - PM and PS Modules
• Preparation, design and implementation of FTTH Access Network Services (40 Mbps) based on GPON Technology, using Huawei OLTs and ONTs.
• Preparation of OSP / ISP plans related to FTTH in the newly developed areas according to the Etisalat Standards.
• Solution Design/Plan to Key Customers for the Services like IP-VPN and Leased data Lines.
• Coordination with the client, Cable/Fiber Implementation Team and the Management till the completion of the project.
• Project Expenditures based on Fiber as well as Copper Access Network Cables (LMC / LMD).
• Preparation / Planning of Civil Projects, RFI Road Works and Location / Proposal of new Cabinets, joint boxes / Dps / OLTs.
• Planning of Development Jobs based on forecasts and Site surveys, with proper dimensioning of Network Resources like IP Cabinets / OLTs / MSAN / IP RAPTOR / MALC.
• Preparation of “Costs of works” for the provision of Telecom Services to key customers, other than main development jobs.
• Preparation of Cable / Civil Jobs for the Clearance of Line Plant Waiters
• Preparation jobs for the seamless integration of the new technologies like GPON in the existing Cu based network

•O&M of Huawei MD5500 OLT and its connected ONUs for V5.2 Subscribers in Local Transmission Fiber Ring.
•CCS7 Signaling, Call Routing, Charging and Subscriber Management, Call Traffic Observations and subsequent modifications for obtaining maximum Level of ASR and min. CFR and congestion.
•CDR / AMA Tickets and Online/Offline System Backups.
•Localization and Rectification of Switching Faults using Event Logs, Switch Test Routines (LOCAVARs) and Token Ring Messages.
•Lead a team for the Software Patches Implementation in SNR Karachi in Alcatel Switches.
•Installation, Testing and Commissioning of over 30 Alcatel 1000 E10 PSTN and its Remote Switching Units (RSU) all over Pakistan with successful Cut-Over into service and handing over to the client.
•Lead Acceptance Test Teams on behalf of Vendor/Manufacturer for carrying out PATs according to the PAT Protocols upto the Customer satisfaction.
•NMC Expert at the PTCL Network Management Centers, based on Alcatel A8300 NMC, Sun Solaris Workstation Servers for providing Technical Assistance and Support Services for Over 36 connected PSTN / IN Nodes.
•Call Processing Software Up-gradation (Activity of 34 Hours continuous per Site without any interruption in Switching) of Alcatel 1000 E10 Switches, from R21E1F to R24G20 as a part of R24 Up-gradation Project.
•Performed Switch Core Expansion involving Integration of New System Resources (New Trunk Ports, Auxiliary Service Ports, Switch-Matrix Expansion, New subscriber interfaces) in Online and Live Exchanges.
• Site surveys and managing a team of 14 Installers (Foreman/Technicians) for execution of Site Creation / Expansion projects.
GPA/Percentage ============= Overall/Aggregate Percentage for the 04 Year Bachelors Program is 68%. Final Year Project ============== "VGA Signals Conversion to PAL/NTSC Compatible signals" Hardware Based on Motorola MC-1377 IC and the development of C-Language Device Driver (TSR Software, developed in C) for down conversion of high frequency VGA Signals to 15 KHz range for compatibility with Television Systems. Being a novel idea at the contemporary time(1999), this project stood 6th in all Pakistan Inter-University Project/Researches in Year 2000.
