KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare drawings and documents by maintaining the expected quality, within the scheduled time-frame and by maintaining the allotted budget.
• Work as Project Manager for small-scale projects.
• Work as Commissioning Engineer for installation of Burner Management System on existing Fired Heaters.
• Independently handle Techno-commercial proposals and coordinate with Client and concerned disciplines for project award.
• Conduct process calculations such as steady state hydraulics, transient simulations, PSV sizing calculations, control valve sizing calculations, depressurization analysis, energy optimization calculations, etc.
• Conduct site visits for gathering design inputs.
• Validate Company in-house calculation sheets (control valve sizing, Flare KOD, TSV Sizing).
• Active participation in Design Review and HAZOP workshops.
• Review of vendor documents and drawings in order to ensure vendor compliance with engineering deliverables.

• Process Design Basis, Process Description, Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), Steady State Hydraulic Report, Energy Saving Calculation Report, Thermal Safety Valve (TSV) Sizing Report, Line Designation Table, Tie-in Schedule, Tie-in Philosophy, Operating and Control Philosophy, Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) datasheet, Control Valve datasheet and Material Takeoff (MTO) for Valves.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform hydraulic studies of process equipment and piping using 3 different software - PIPESIM, Aspen HYSYS and AFT Fathom - and produce all design reports and documents.
• Execute engineering calculations related to line hydraulics, pump hydraulics, compressor hydraulics, separator calculations, control valve calculations and vessel sizing.
• Evaluate feasibility of proposed gas diversion schemes by independently conducting energy audits using Aspen HYSYS.
• Independently create Excel spreadsheets to evaluate critical parameters of pumps and heat exchangers as per project requirements.
• Participate in reviewing enquiries/RFPs from clients and developing technical proposals for preparing RFP responses/bids as per client requirements
• Attend HAZOP review meetings to identify process hazards and implement effective corrective action plan ensuring process safety.
• Generate Comment Resolution Sheets to incorporate client comments across deliverables at various review gates of the design process.
• Review various deliverables from the Piping and Instrumentation department assuring compliance with overall project design requirements.
• Mentored a junior internee during his 3-week internship with the company.

Independently modified PFDs for a facility to produce fatty alcohols from FAME using Aspen HYSYS in consultation with other process design engineers; generated optimization problems to maximize efficiency and minimize capital and operating costs.

Performed laboratory testing of various dairy and juice products; resolved material balance problems related to day-to-day production; prepared data sheets for monthly production activities.
