Bahrain-based Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO) is one of the largest downstream aluminum facilities in the Middle East for rolling, cutting and fabricating aluminum. With an annual production capacity of 165, 000 tones, GARMCO specializes in producing high-quality flat rolled aluminum products in various sizes and alloys, including circles, sheets and coils. A separate foil mill, with a capacity of 20, 000 tones, produces semi-rigid container stock and fin stock. These products are exported to key markets around the world - stretching from Australia to the USA - to over 2, 000 customers in more than 45 countries.
 Responsible for electrical engineering projects, maintenance, spares, for Cold mill and finishing line eg. Slitter line, Tension leveling Line.
 Cold Mill automation supplied by Siemens VAI Germany, With TDC&S7-400 PLC.

• Led day to day engineering activities and coordinated all work products with management for plant wide equipment to ensure smooth and reliable operations.
• Improved operational efficiency by directing maintenance and project activities across major production areas, including cold mills, hot mills, remelt cast house, and finishing lines within the electrical engineering domain.
• Developed strong expertise in the design, modification, and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems such as Siemens Simatic TDC, S7 400, TIA Portal PLC, Wincc HMI, Allen Bradley PLC & HMI, IBA analyser, Level 1 & Level 2 systems, and AC/DC drives.
• Optimized costs and resource utilization by supporting technology innovation, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to roadmap development while ensuring cost and schedule adherence for assigned projects.
• Gained hands on experience with IMS thickness gauge systems and EMG strip centring technologies, contributing to enhanced measurement accuracy and process stability.

 Commissioning and maintenance of ABB digital drives DCS800 for regulation of main mill stands and ACS 800 drives for regulation of AC motors.
 Involvement in design coordination of Mill drives, HT/LT, MCC’s, PCC’s, PDB’s.
 Participating along with ABB in pre-commissioning activities of ABB DCS-800 drives and AC-800 PEC PLC for Bar Mill.
 Mill designed with latest state of art technology with AC-800 PEC Plc’s for Automation and patent technology for bar mill.

• Served as Electrical & Automation Manager for the erection and commissioning of a 200, 000 MT/annum bar mill project, ensuring seamless start up and alignment with project specifications.
• Led maintenance and engineering development activities based on process requirements, maintaining systems at 100% availability to support uninterrupted production.
• Oversaw techno commercial responsibilities, including inventory and spare parts management, procurement planning, and effective utilization of ERP systems to ensure cost efficient operations.
• Supported senior management in formulating and executing long term business strategies, contributing technical insights and operational perspectives for future growth.

• The mill was designed for producing 25000 tons/ month and presently the production level was at 100%. The mill was supplied, erected and commissioned by M/s PPRM and Newfield engineers Bangalore India and Electrics by M/S NELCO, ABB and Gemco controls India.
• I have also taken training in Gemco controls for Electrics /PLC’s and Maint. of bar mill and WRM.
