- I currently deliver language training courses (English for Arabs / IELTS preparation / Arabic for English speakers) on both individual and organizational levels in the GCC region as a licensed freelance trainer. I deliver my own language courses through my account on the online platform: https://listenandsayit.clickmeeting.com Below are some of the courses I designed and delivered:
A. English Language Courses:
Integrated English Practices - Basic Level (IEP-1): Currently delivered to 2 groups. The course is 80 hours including exams, and is delivered through audio-interactive PowerPoint Presentations. it covers 1873 vocab items/expressions and 392 language points. This course is divided into 6 modules. This course is benchmarked with IELTS 2.5 score (my own evaluation)
Integrated English Practices - Intermediate Level (IEP-2): It was delivered
privately as a foundation before preparing for IELTS. This course - 120 hours - is a continuation of the basic one.
Enhance Your Writing Skills - Levels 1 & 2: Level 1 was delivered previously to ADNOC and Al Ain Zoo Employees.
Enhance Your Writing Skills - Level 2: Designed but not yet delivered.
Steps to Composition Writing: 25-hour course which was designed but not yet delivered.
Common Mistakes in English: delivered to ADIB and Al Ain Zoo employees through an audio-based PowerPoint presentation.
Idiomatic Expressions in English: 4-hour course delivered to ADNOC employees.
B. Soft Skills Courses:
Emotional Intelligence: Full-day course presented to Al Ain Zoo Employees.
C. Arabic Language Courses (for Non-Arabs):
Basic Arabic Reading: Currently delivered to 1 doctor of Al Noor Hospital in Al Ain (Hungarian nationality)
Basic Gynaecology Terms and Common Medical Expressions: Previously delivered to 1 doctor of Al Noor Hospital (American nationality).
I was responsible for bridging the language communication gaps between Arabic and English mother-tongue speakers through classroom-based courses, online training programs, and on-the-job field mentoring.
- I’ve designed - and am delivering - a few ESL (English for Specific Purposes) courses for Al Ain Zoo front-line staff (tour guides, guest relation representatives, etc.)
I taught the English Language courses I had designed for Gulf adult Arabs. They are long-term courses that consist of 6 basic and 6 intermediate levels. These courses were an improved version of the courses I had designed before for FERTIL (an ADNOC company) at Ruwais - Abu Dhabi.
- I prepared a number of short-term English language courses designed to fill certain language gaps. They included: Start Up with Reading (for absolute beginners), Common mistakes in English, Enhance Your Listening Skill (for call centre staff), Enhance Your Writing Skill, Speak Fluently (for advanced users of English), and some other short-term ESL courses.
- I handled a one-to-one tailored English course for a senior special case.
- I designed a standard English language placement test for Burooj employees (a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank) . The test is bench-marked with IELTS® and Oxford international placement tests (general English).
- I designed an e-classroom, The Tower, (on-line English training program) through the company network for employees who couldn’t attend long-term classroom-based English language courses.
- I designed Burooj on-line cultural magazine, “The Tower”, for the employees’ general self/career development and to enhance the company values.
- I handled the administration routine tasks related to English Training in Burooj.
- I taught the 9-level English Language course I had designed for FERTIL employees (3 basic, 3 intermediate and 3 advanced), for general and technical English learners (2 sets).
- I also designed an English language placement test for FERTIL employees. The test, covering all key skill areas of the English language, was made to assign the right course level and highlight the language gaps for future training plans.
- I designed and taught 2 short-term courses (including e-presentations): (Effective Writing Skills) and (Common Mistakes In English)
- I designed an illustrated local English-Arabic dictionary for FERTIL employees (about 500 colored pages). It is currently being used.
- I was responsible for establishing the company English Language Training Section right from the beginning.
- Then, I designed and delivered one e-presentation based language course for operators/technicians (basic) and another for admin staff and engineers (intermediate).
- I taught the English curriculum adopted by the company to new trainees and on-job employees.
- Then I was assigned to design special English courses. I made one for Security staff, another for beginners and a third of three levels for the company technicians and engineers.
- I also shared in procedure of getting the ISO certificate for the company.
- I started as an English language teacher.
- Then I was appointed as the Secondary School Assistant Principal in addition to supervising the Testing Control Unit.
- I wrote 2 books as an extra English curriculum for the Primary School.
I taught the American English language course adopted by ARAMCO (4 general and 4 technical levels) to its wide range of employees in 2 different ITCs (Industrial Training Centers).
I was employed as a demonstrator at the same faculty I graduated from to teach English language to the undergraduates of Math, Physics and Biology sections of the faculty.
Upon graduation I got one of the top 4 scores and accordingly was selected to work for the faculty as a demonstrator of English language. I accepted the job and started my career there.
