As a Mechanical Engineer in a major railway construction project (Béchar-Tindouf), I was responsible for fuel, lubricants, inventory, and fleet support operations for a large fleet of heavy construction equipment. Managed the project's diesel fuel station with a storage capacity of 110, 000 liters, ensuring fuel availability, inventory accuracy, and operational continuity.
Key responsibilities included preparing purchase requests for fuel, lubricants, greases, and cooling fluids; supervising fuel reception, storage, distribution, and stock control activities; monitoring fuel consumption for individual equipment and the entire fleet; conducting daily inventory verification and investigating discrepancies; and preparing detailed daily, monthly, and fleet-wide consumption reports.
Supervised fuel distribution operations covering heavy equipment, trucks, generators, lighting towers, and workshop assets. Coordinated the work of a Junior Engineer, Equipment Management Technician, fuel truck drivers, and fuel distribution personnel.
Developed and customized Microsoft Excel tracking tools to improve operational monitoring, reporting efficiency, inventory management, and fuel consumption analysis. Verified and approved fuel reception documents, stock issue vouchers, distribution records, and inventory reports while ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Through regular field visits, I monitored equipment operations directly, analyzed performance indicators, and supported decision-making through accurate operational reporting and data analysis.
