This is a marketing franchise which I own. It promotes local businesses through a variety of online and offline marketing techniques.
This position only occupies me part-time.
This was an interim position, which I took on to assist the owners of a business that they had just taken over (I had known the owners for over 20 years). I was responsible for the day-to-day operation of a transport depot, as well as overseeing the integration of the depot into the rest of the business.
Rresponsible for all aspects of the company's operation, with a particular focus on strategy and commercial relationships.
I was responsible for the company's UK landside operations, with a strong focus on inland transport. This involved an annual spend of over £30 million, controlled through a department of 35 people. I was heavily involved with commercial colleagues in creating high quality customer service, and combined this with a remit to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness.
This was a dual role, incorporating International Container Management for the corporate business and Logistics Management for the UK agency.
The International Container Management role encompassed all aspects of asset management for the company's container fleet, within a profit centre culture that entailed supplying the company's separate liner services as internal customers.
UK Logistics Management involved controlling an annual spend of over £20 million, whilst ensuring high levels of customer service.
Control of the company's UK landside operations, working closely with corporate management in USA. Ensuring excellent customer service through close management of suppliers, as well as delivering cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Management of the company's container fleet as a profit centre supplying the needs of the trading units. The role included control of container purchasng and leasing, as well as overseeing maintenance & repairs and empty positioning costs.
Part of a team responsible for the management of the company's Europe-Middle East service, including capacity management and control of agents.
Involved in managing the container fleet for a Europe to Nort America service
Worked on a project evaluating the performance and punctuality of shipping lines
Achieved second class honours degree
