As part of a project team establishing a strategic approach to provide the Rail and Underground group with the capability to meet the UK Governments 2016 BIM mandate and reduce capital cost of assets through better Information Modelling and Management (BIM), responsibilities include:
•Monitoring and reviewing current and emerging British/ISO standards and outputs from the UK Government BIM Task Groups to inform the implementation of new and updated company standards, methods and procedures and guides.
•Carrying out gap analysis between company standards and published British/ISO standards.
•Producing updates to existing company standards and guides (and new ones where required) to align with British/ISO standards (and outputs from the BIM Task Groups) and business requirements.
•Producing a consistent set of Standards, Methods and Procedures (SMP) for the production, use and management of Project and Handover Information; to be used on all projects to ensure a consistent approach to Information Modelling and Management (BIM).
•Producing a standard Master Information Delivery Plan template and guide.
•Develop content for procurement documents, in relation to BIM, including additional questions within the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ), requirements to the Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and contractual requirements to be included within the Works Information.
•Advise and support project teams to ensure BIM requirements are identified, that they are in line with the companies BIM strategy and are captured within the projects procurement documents.
•Raise awareness of information modelling and management (BIM) across the business.
