• Coordination, performing and supervision to ensure that all NDT activities are carried out according to applicable standards, class rules and approved NDT Inspection Plans.
• Performing NDT (UT, Dye-Check, MP) examinations for welding of steel plates, pipelines, engine support, longitudinal and transverse stiffener and some other stress steel structures (different parts of the cranes, forged or cast steel pieces, mobile bridges/conveyers), couplings and block sections of ships in every stage, erection, pre-erection.
• Perform thickness measurements and close-up survey of all kind of ships placed in dry dock or offshore.
• Performing welding inspection activities (preparation, fit up, final visual)
• Meeting with foremen and engineering staff (time schedule for inspection, fit up and welding, critical problems).
• Promoting the inspected works on production flow at required quality level.
• Identification and control of finalizing of nonconformities before Classification Society and Owner official inspection.
• Preparation of reports and documentation
Kazakhstan - Kashagan Project - Construction of two(Oil&Gas) 28” pipelines
Ensure that:
• Material is in accordance with drawings/WPS.
• WPSs have been approved and available to welders
• Welding Equipment is in suitable condition and calibrated as appropriate
• Weld preparation in accordance with WPS
• All welder qualification certificates are valid
• Welding consumable to be used are as specified by the WPSs and are stored/controlled as specified by QC procedure
• Joint fit-ups are done according WPS/drawings
• Weld faces are free from defects, contamination and damage
• Preheat and interpass temperature
• Weather conditions are suitable with Code
• Welding parameters are in accordance with WPS
• Perform internal visual with camera after completion of root&hot and external visual inspection after the weld is finalised
• Issuing reports for fit-up, internal visual test, external visual test and repairs
• Ensuring that NDT activities are carried out according to applicable standards, class rules and approved NDT Inspection Plans.
• Choose the applicable NDT technique for internal and external inspection of crude oil separators, flow lines, process pipework and storage tanks for the detection of “Hydrogen induced cracking” and general corrosion monitoring for the requirements of the Client and Germanisher Lloyds.
• Carried out field inspections and prepared the required reports.
• Interpret and evaluate test results as per acceptance criteria and suggest the required repairs in the report recommendations. Discuss field inspection reports with company senior inspector and follow up critical reported defects until completion of repairs or replacement.
