● Installing and configuring Windows Servers on both physical Dell PowerEdge servers and virtual servers hosted on Hyper-V hypervisor. Migrating physical to virtual servers and moving servers in between hypervisors based on the loads.
● Migrating users to Corporate Cloud Solutions on Microsoft’s Office 365 and Google’s G Suite cloud platforms. Setting up SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business and other tools which greatly enhance collaboration among project teams.
● Using File Server Resource Manager setup Quotas and identifying storage trends by generating Storage Reports. Enabling DFS shares for heavily accessed data which helped improve Data availability and grouping shares with Namespaces; enabling Deduplication that helped achieve storage savings of about 60% on the Archive File shares.
● Setting up, scheduling and monitoring Symantec Backup Executive server; ensuring all file, email, database and application servers are backed up. Backing up end user PCs with Synology Cloud station backup on Synology DiskStation NAS drives.
● Deploying and interconnecting sites in the desert and other remote locations where wired internet connectivity is not available, using long distance point-to-point wireless networks with Motorola P2P Wireless devices and also 4G routers where mobile network coverage is available. This not only helped Project sites connect with HO but also helped setup live monitoring of Project sites using CCTV systems accessible at both HO and elsewhere using Mobile Surveillance applications.
● Configuring SonicWALL firewalls including setting up firewall policies, network zones, content filtering, gateway antivirus and monitoring logs using SonicWALL Analyzer software. Setting up point-to-point VPNs for interconnecting site offices and client VPNs using SonicWALL SSL-VPN and SonicWALL Mobile Connect app for tablets and mobile devices.
● Publishing company applications and file shares to remote users using Citrix Presentation server and Microsoft Remote desktop.
● Debugging company’s ERP application developed using Oracle Forms and Reports and redesigning the user interface to enable ease of access for remote users on tablets and other handheld devices.
● Monitoring Antivirus logs using ESET Remote Administrator and ensuring anti-malware software is deployed on all servers, endpoints, up-to-date with latest system updates, software updates, firmwares and patches.
● Maintaining hardware and software configurations, changes, audit records and maintenance reports.
● Helping develop company IT policies and conducting training sessions for users on these policies, best practices and other enterprise applications.
