Monitors and reviews physician orders (drug profiles) to
ensure proper dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
2) Prepares, checks, and dispenses unit dose and traditionally dispensed medication
3) Reviews and double-checks the prepared medication by technicians for accuracy and quality prior to dispensing in all areas.
4) Maintains patient safety while assuming all the duties of a pharmacist in his/her day-to-day activities with particular to high alert medications.
5) Coordinates technician activities in the work areas
6) Maintains records such as inventory, expiry, and temperature.
7) Ensures that medications are stored appropriately and securely.
8) Complies with the standards laid down by the approved national and international accreditation organisations and performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
9)Performs inspection of nursing units, discusses service problems with head nurses, and recommends solutions to pharmacy manager, etc.
