To further widen my skills and extend my experience, I took up a new challenge in the field of logistics from August 2016. Geomatics Manager at Brunei Shell Petroleum
  • Brunei Darussalam
  • January 2009 to July 2016

In early 2009, I was back in BSP to assume the role of Head Geomatics Services (Geomatics Manager), reporting to the Technical Director. The department is divided into four sections:- Offshore Survey Operations, Onshore Survey Operations, Metocean Services, and GIS & Geo-Information Management. Total number of staff was 38 people. Total annual budget was around B$ 15 million. The job also carried the role of Contract Owner for all the (up to 15 contracts) held by the team. One of my key achievements on this job was the review and implementation of a new upgraded organisation structure to meet the business demand, resulting in a reduced but up-skilled work force of 32 people. As a Technical Authority Level 2 for Geomatics, the main accountability is to ensure all activities and deliverables are quality-checked and assured that applicable standards are adhered to avoid any geo-spatial data integrity incident. On the HSE front, I was proud to lead and manage the team and contractors to a fantastic safety performance and maintained Goal Zero operations (14 years LTI-free on 8th January 2016).
