Consultant Quantity Surveyor: Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Accurate measurement of quantities as per design drawings along with the specifications for
the generation of Bill of Quantities to proceed for client approval & reference and for
Tendering to the list of tenderers.
2. Conservative cost estimation of the design project to assure the client that the cost of his or
her project is +/-10% of the agreed project budget.
3. Handling of all Tendering Process for selection & awarding of the project, working side by
side with the construction director and the project designers such are architects & engineers.
4. Checking, evaluating & comparing all bidders offer for tender projects and to ensure
completeness of all required items to complete the project.
5. Handling of all post-contract QS functions such as assessment & certification of interim & final
payments, variations, and any commercial & contractual correspondences & various claims.
6. Assuring the completeness & validity of contract requirements.
7. Keeping & monitoring of all payments to the contractors such is the payment logs & ledgers
for client’s record and reference.
8. Valuation & assessment of submitted variations (client or contractor initiated)
9. Monitoring of projected final project contract cost.
10. Reviewing & negotiating for any claims, EOT, etc. that might encounter during construction.
11. Preparation of financial statement of the projects monthly for the client.
QS - Facilities Engineer: Tasked in coordinating with the tenants’ maintenance request from the SS
Lootah Real Estate, evaluating the works, generating & submitting Estimate to the Real Estate for
approval before proceeding with works. Responsible in generating monthly invoice billing with regards
to the job completed for each month. Additionally, tasked as the office administrator along in
supporting all Maintenance Supervisors & Leaders in dealing with the maintenance cases they are
handling. Dealing as well with needed sub-contractors in required out-sourced maintenance works.
Assisting and advising the Facilities Manager in dealing with intercompany transactions and
communications.
Jr - Cost Control Engineer: Tasked in assisting and supporting the Cost Control Engineers in
preparing the budget, analyzing and approving VO’s, approving MRFs & LPOs as per budget,
gathering of all required data and figures for generation of Monthly Cost Report. Project: Sky Dive
Dubai Head Office, Jumeirah, Dubai.
Civil - Quantity Surveyor: Assigned to the Tendering & Estimates Department, Responsible in
quantifying Civil, Structural and Architectural Finishes as well as sending enquiries packages to
sub-contractors for sub-contracting package work quotations and negotiations with regards to the
Tender Projects. In addition, preparing the Bill of Quantities is also part of the responsibility along
with inputting the measured quantities in the cost analysis sheet then linking to the prepared Bill
of Quantities. Apart from doing the Quantification, RFIs, Work Packaging, Basic Costing and
Preparing the BOQ, it is also part of the responsibility to collect and process all the technical data
required by the client as part of the tender submissions such as Work Program, Manpower &
Equipment Schedule and others.
Quantity Surveyor: Responsible for quantifying material take-off quantities for Civil, Structural and
Architectural works of a tender projects and or pre-negotiated projects, sending enquiries to subcontractors for other work-related packages. Creating proposed conservative project references
such as Construction Activity Schedule (Gant Chart / Manpower & Equipment Schedule / Projected
Percentage Accomplishment and Financial Cash flow) of the tender projects. Attends pre/post
meetings and site visits with the client owner, design consultants and construction managers and
raise various concerns and information related to the project. Part of team that evaluates Change
Orders of won on-going projects that are sent from designated project construction team, as a QS
part of obligation is to supplement and assist the estimator and or QS Manager in finalizing Tender
proposals, Bill of Quantities, Technical Presentation during tendering stage.
Quality Assurance / Control (QAQC): Concurrent Position to QS; Monitors quality assurance
work for housing, land developments and amenities. Implements site construction plans and
supervisions vis-à-vis quality assurance standards set by the company. Assists and provides
support to the project officer in all quality inspection of works specifically architectural works.
Prepares documents and reportorial requirements as per QMS. Performs other related duties
of a quality assurance engineer from time to time.
Site Engineer (Internship), trained in site surveys, quantity estimates for road asphalts and minor
retrofitting works. Tasked to supervise labor workers in doing maintenance and minor building
works and responsible to report and record daily project accomplishments during plant shutdown
(Petron Bataan Refinery). Was also tasked to check and monitor structural and architectural works
of other minor projects.
