Responsible for the overall management of the shift, maintaining high levels of productivity and safety.
•In charge of 300 personnel per shift.
•Coordinate with shipping lines/agents regarding the ETA and ETD.
•Liaise with the harbor master and port pilot to ensure safe berthing and un-berthing of vessel.
•Arrange safe crane positioning prior vessel berthing
•Arrange mooring and unmooring gang for berthing and un-berthing.
•Responsible for the safe and productive operations of the vessels right from berthing to sailing.
•Planning vessel work sequences and executing them to ensure high levels of efficiency.
•Arranging and managing labor and crane deployments to maximize productivity whilst reducing cost.
•Ensuring safety of all staff, contractors and visitors to the terminal at all times.
•Monitor breakdowns if any and report to engineering for needful action.
•Report accidents if any to the safety department and take prompt needful action also log the same in the internal system for reference.
•Regularly check on the equipments and arrange for maintenance and repairs and servicing as deemed necessary.
•Prepare and circulate the vessel berthing schedule internally as well as to the lines.
•Completing VPR's and recording daily activities of the shift.
•Working in close coordination with large number of internal and external customers to ensure smooth work flow.
•Liaising with customers/shipping lines daily and maintain cordial relationship.
Yard planner/Terminal yard planner
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Planning effective yard layout for the entire terminal to increase rate of productivity.
•Arrange proper stacking facility and ensure optimum utilization of yard space with minimal clashes/ redundant moves while operation.
•Monitor and evaluate daily yard position and ensure proper and safe stacking of containers.
•Arrange regular housekeeping to ensure un hindered operations at all times.
•Reduce/avoid excessive shifting during vessel operation.
•Allocate the yard ranges of exports per vessel/voyage prior gate opening.
•Try and maximize block stacking wherever possible to create space in yard.
•Close monitoring of the yard to ensure smooth feeding of containers from yard to vessel and accurate positioning of discharged containers in the yard.
•RHF radio communication with the operations team to resolve terminal related operational issues.
•Close coordination with all departments to ensure smooth work flow.
•Liaise regularly with the customers/shipping lines.
•Internal coordination with ship plan and operations to ensure that planning of containers in the yard compliments the load plan on the connecting vessel.
Apart from the above have also worked in other operational departments to gain experience and insight into all aspects of terminal operation.

courses: Diploma in Computer Aided Design (Auto CAD) from CAD TRAINING/WORKSHOPS Completed a range of firefighting and safety training programs whilst employed with Gulftainer.
