• Review prescription order to determine accuracy and suitability .
• Prepare and dispense medication in accordance with established hospital laws governing such acts.
• Ensure that all safety protocols and security measures are adhered to in meeting the high standards of the field .
• Fill prescription orders and label with patient information, dosage recommendations, and safety precautions that should be taken .
• Develop and promote collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the pharmaceutical care of the patients
• Advise customers on the recommended dosage, warnings, storage and possible side effects of all dispensed medications, answer customers questions that they may have .
• Communicate with doctors to ensure no mistakes are made .
• Assist customers with purchase of OTC medication .
• Perform services such as taking blood pressure, temperature and other vitals .
• Inventory all medications, equipment and supplies in stock and report needs to supervisors for ordering and restock when order are delivered .
