The company was supporting accounting automation solution software 1C of several enterprises from small firms to big factories (outsourcing).
The initial tasks were very simple
- Update different packages of 1C local and network databases.
- Install different versions and editions of 1C.
- Setup suitable environment for the coders (programmers) of 1C to work.
I suggested creating a department that supports all IT systems of the companies: hardware, software, networks, which turned out very profitable for the company. More over initially all updates were delivered manually (by foot) to the clients, this problem was solved by setting up a VPN server that made the update and any other manipulations with the software done remotely.
The company had more than 50 regular customer firms with different IT infrastructure sizes, some with system administrators others without anyone to support their networks. My role was to distribute engineers to clients, consult systems administrators of the clients and solve the most complex problems that cannot be handled by others. The experience was huge and it is not possible to mention all the hardware, software and network technologies and products that I worked with.
- Design, order and assemble hardware for computers and servers required for company needs.
- Troubleshoot networking problems.
- Unify all branches of the restaurant in a single network for information centralization.
