Key Deliverables
•• Setting up the Steel Service Center from scratch
• Spearheading complete factory operations of a steel service center from production to delivery.
• Developing Strategy and Marketing plans to enhance the Steel Service Center business and find new customers.
• Developing SOP’s for various activities in the factory & enhancing them to augment productivity, trim down cost of production.
• Ensure compliance to all SOP’s, management policies, procedures and controls across engineering services and operations to provides a safe and environmentally responsible service to all stake holders.
• Preparation of annual budget for the factory which includes investments needs.
• Handling machine utilization, productivity improvement, rejection control, cost control, tool calibration and certification, data collection and maintenance reports etc.
• Lean Manufacturing concepts like JIT, TPM, PDCA cycle etc followed, with Waste Management and Recycling given high priority.
• Serving as Safety Manager and looking after KY activities, improvements, 5S, Risk Assessment and Factor Analysis.
• Managing Factory administration, approving OT and recommending regularization and promotion to staff.
• Conducting interviews and evaluating applicants for vacant positions, reviewing safety in the factory and fulfilling JAFZA regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate and approve maintenance contracts, approve invoices, ensure that all subcontracting of maintenance and repair is done as per agreed terms of contracts.
• Performing ocular inspection and discussing problems with respective leaders in the factory.
• Handling maintenance of overall Plant Building, Offices, Infrastructure, Machinery and equipment in the factory.
• Ensure breakdowns of machines and equipment is attended timely and ensure preventive maintenance is periodically conducted across factory and office for machines, equipment’s, fittings and other infrastructures.
• Essayed a stellar role in:
• Conducting pre-shipment inspection of new machinery purchased abroad.
• Establishing and implementing Quality Management System
• Examining customer claims regarding quality of delivered goods.
• Increased production volumes by 300% with same resources during the starting stages of the operations.
• Impart regular training to factory staff on various aspects of factory operations with respect to Safety, JAFZA and EHS regulations, convey changes in process/systems/methodologies.
• Noted unsafe activities down and notified factory staff of the dangers and regular safety classes are held for factory staff to improve overall safety within the factory.
• Reviewing records and documents related to ISO 9001 and Quality Management
• Reviewing costing of products and services
