About Deira International School
Deira International School follows the UK/IBDP curriculum and is fully accredited by KHDA, CIS,
IBO and BSO inspected. The school has 1600 students and 300 full time staff including 170 teachers.
The school is currently rated ‘Very Good’ by the KHDA.
My Role
To provide leadership to the finance, administration, human resources, facilities, security,
transportation and all non-academic operations of the school.
Over the past 13 years I have overseen the business aspects of the school during its rapid growth from
257 students and 67 teachers to its current status as a large thriving school. During my tenure the
school has also witnessed sustained construction and expansion and I was involved in all aspects of
the design and construction. The last phase of the media center was completed in August 2018.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Facilities, Security and Transport
Operations.
* Budget preparation, implementation, reporting.
* Compliance and adherence with regulatory authorities like KHDA, DM, DHA, DNRD, TRA,
RTA, Civil Defense.
* Contract and bid negotiation to ensure optimal usage of resources.
* Proactively participate and contribute to overall school development, like admissions,
marketing, health and safety, eco committees, student council.
* Design and implement policies and procedures, participate in self-evaluation process for CIS.
* Develop protocols and systems to ensure that the school is personnel independent and
operates based on established procedures and policies.
* Manage risk and liability and ensure that all personnel and assets are adequately insured.
* Review contracts with third parties to ensure compliance with the law and protect the school
and its stakeholders from exposure to liability.

I was responsible for the finalisation of portfolio profiles and investment department accounts, to
monitor the performance of investments and raise alerts that influence strategic decision making. Assist
