Preparation of method statements related to all
mechanical & electrical activities.
Perform inspection of materials at works with
main contractor and consultants as per the
requirement of ITP
Follow the inspection plan and procedures
Complete the necessary documentation for
inspection and testing
Maintain the logbook for material and work
inspection and update the status on a day to day
basis.
Report inspection and test results to Project
Manager and head office QA dept.
Witness qualifying tests and determine the
validity in accordance with regulations, codes
specification and procedures
Ensure witness signature from the main
contractor and consultant in the inspection and
test request.
Non-conformance rectification, corrective action
follow-up with construction manger
Maintain NCR logbook
Coordination with engineers of all trades and
ensures the timely completion of related
activities before inspection
To carry out process inspection and audits
Ensure calibration of all instruments /
equipment’s used for inspection with calibration
details Monthly reports on material inspections,
work inspection and NCR to project manager
and QA/QC manager
Ensure high quality of workmanship and
compliance with the design.
Conduct Inspections on site for the installation
of different types of works.
Coordinate with the client and the contractor to
ensure implementation of any modification to
the Design
Participate in the monthly Progress Meetings to
provide up to date status of works
Review material submittals and inspect material
delivered to site to ensure compliance with the
specifications and contract requirements.
Supervision and quality control on Mechanical
works.
Attending coordination meeting with
contractors.
Monitor mechanical Installation Works as per
drawing and specification.
Coordinate with the Contractor modifications
made at site and shown to As- built Drawings for
reference.
Reviewing and evaluating the Method
Statements of Mechanical works.
Checking and evaluating As-Built Drawings.
Evaluating and providing a report of submitted
cost proposal for a part of the project.
Coordinating with other disciplines the exact
locations as per drawings and specifications
Analyzing the tender drawings, Specifications &
BOQ.
Preparing material submittal & shop drawings
and coordination with Consultant.
Preparing material procurement & planning,
project scheduled to meet the timeline of the
project
Vendor Development, Negotiations, Sub contract
management, Follow up with Suppliers, getting
the material, bought out items, etc, in time to
implement the project.
Planning & scheduling of material movement &
manpower mobilizations.
Supervising the erection of duct, pipe line
insulation etc.
Timely interacting with consultant & main
contractor to ensure smooth & timely
completion of the project.
Executing quality job as per the design, within
the completion time line to the utmost
satisfaction of client.
Preparing monthly progress reports & as built
drawing
Preparing bills with necessary backup
documents & follow up with consultant for
payment
Handling the project & get the work completing
certificate
Actively involved in submittals of shop drawings,
coordination drawings, Builders work drawing &
other submittals and got it approved status.
Involved in clearing Engineering issues.
Attending meeting & assisting to update log.
Interpretation of the intent and ensuring the
requirements of codes, standards and
specifications are met
Ensuring that a procedure is available, has been
approved and is being employed in production
Witnessing the preparation of test plates and
destructive tests and verifying compliance with
appropriate standards and specifications.
Verifying that adequate and valid welder
approvals are available, and that only approved
welders are used in production.
Verifying parent material against documentation
and markings
Verification of correctness of welding
consumables (electrodes, filler wires,
consumable in¬serts, gases, fluxes etc.)
Verification that dimensions, fit-up and weld
preparations are in accordance with
specifications.
Verification that any required preheat is in
accordance with the specified procedure.
Surveillance during welding to verify compliance
with specified procedures including any
pre¬heat, interpass temperature control and
post heat require¬ments.
Assistance and agreement with the preparation
of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s).
Verification, when required that post weld heat
treatment has been conducted in accordance
with specification requirements.
Visual inspection and dimensional check of
completed weld ment against specification
requirements and drawings.
The study and cognisance of NDT results on any
welding work for which the welding inspector is
responsible. Where the duties of the welding
inspector include using NDT methods such as
liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, radiography
or ultrasonic inspection then it is suggested that
he/she obtains certification in accordance with
the related approval schemes.
Evaluation of and preparation of inspection
reports for the employer or the client.
Maintenance of records of inspections carried
out.
