Abdul Latif Jameel Summit is a joint venture between two well respected conglomerates - the Abdul Latif Jameel Group (ALJ) of Saudi Arabia and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan. ALJ is the largest Toyota Distributor globally.
At ALJ Summit, we represent globally renowned brands including Komatsu Construction & Mining Equipment, Foton Loxa Concrete Delievery Trucks, Monitou Telescopic Handlers, Higer Buses and Teksan Generators. (More products awaiting additions).
As Financial Controller, I am taking care of all Accounting and Financial matters of the company including but not limited to Budgeting and Control, ERP implementation, feasibility studies of projects, costing and pricing of products, internal controls and management reporting etc.
Among my roles here, some are listed below.
i. Preparing Feasibility of the projects (costing, pricing, cash flow planning, IRR studies).
ii. Has an advisory role to CFO/MD during planning, decision making, project implementation and subsequent monitoring.
iii. Co-coordinating & monitoring the preparation Annual Budgets and Business Plans.
iv. Managing timely MIS Reporting-including monthly results, P&L, Balance Sheet, Inventory & Receivables Reports etc
v. Monitoring & Analyzing KPI’s and suggesting corrective measures.
vi. Supervising and administering the audit of accounts from External Auditors.
vii. Having Liaison with Supply Chain Representatives for customs clearance of business products.
viii. Holding liaison with, Group Treasury, Foreign Suppliers, Tax and other consultants.
ix. Supervised Payroll.
x. Assisted in Implementation of processes and configuring ERP to accommodate VAT (Value Added Tax) to go live w.e.f. Jan-2018.
xi. Assisting CFO in operational matters.
I was responsible for Volvo Pakistan (VPL Limited) --- an authorized dealer of world renowned brands like Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment, including Volvo JV’s in China, Gesan Generators etc. Among many jobs that were assigned to me for Group companies, highlights of some are listed below.
i. Implemented and administering i.Scala - the ERP used in Group companies.
ii. Preparing Feasibilities of the projects (costing, pricing, cash flow planning, IRR studies).
iii. Has an advisory role to CEO during planning, decision making, project implementation and subsequent monitoring.
iv. Played a key role in developing SOPs for business processes, internal controls and their implementation.
v. Co-coordinating & monitoring the preparation Annual Budgets and Business Plans.
vi. Managing timely MIS Reporting-including monthly results, P&L, Balance Sheet, Inventory & Receivables Reports etc
vii. Monitoring & Analyzing KPI’s and suggesting corrective measures.
viii. Monitoring the preparation of annual accounts and financial reports of Group Companies and getting these Audited from External Auditors.
ix. Implemented/monitoring the customs & duty structures applicable on business products.
x. Managing Bank finances and holding liaison with banks for financial matters including Financing and Trade.
xi. Holding liaison with Foreign Principals, tax and other consultants.
xii. Administered Payroll.
xiii. Assisting CFO in operational matters.
