Y2K Consultant / Analyst
Member of the Team that carried out the inventory, analysis and remediation of Riyadh Bank’s Retail banking applications. Responsible for the Branch level application; analyzing, modifying and testing code. Developed several useful Y2K tools for the team.
Provided technical support to various sales teams on GEIS Electronic Commerce Services and Products including Business Communications and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). This included preparing Presentations, user requirements analysis and Proposals’ preparation. GEIS’ Electronic Commerce Services are based on its worldwide network available in 750 cities of the world.
Activities involved studying clients’ requirements, internal applications and computer systems and proposing Business Productivity Enhancing Solutions based on integrating / linking the diverse and disparate client systems into a Total Solution utilizing GEIS products and services. This required understanding of the networking technologies, commerce services and products (EDI, Email, Electronic Payment Systems, Supply Chain, etc.), application systems as well as the underlying hardware.

Developed a Contouring Package for the company for automated generation of Contour plots from field survey data. Used Distance-Weighted Least Squares, Bicubic-Spline Interpolation algorithms. Auto-labeling capability.
Designed and led development of a comprehensive Highway Design System. Featured: Extraction and Plotting of plotting windows, Design & Plot of Horizontal Profiles, Vertical Profile design & plots, Cross-sections plotting, Cut-Fill calculations, etc.
Implemented several engineering design and analysis packages on VAX, some originally developed for IBM systems. Developed a plotting interface for Houston Instrument plotters to implement Calcomp plots.

Designed and led development of a comprehensive Projects Monitoring and Manpower Management System (NESMAN) based on Relational database (Rdb) is used for monitoring and control of projects, divisions and manpower for the entire company. The system included Staff utilization, Overhead monitoring, actual vs. budgeted costs, Inter divisional activities, Workload forecasts, Billing, etc.
Responsible for System Management of VAX/VMS Systems
(November 1985 - March 1987)
Mapping and Remote Sensing project, Military Survey Department (MSD), KSA.
Transported MAGNET package from HP1000 to VAX 785. Also developed an I/O driver for the cassette reader. Additionally, taught Introductory VMS courses to Army Officers.
Developed a Library System for Indexing and Circulation requirements of the MSD library using FORTRAN and FMS.

Dallah Project
Designed and led development of a Payroll and Personnel System for Dallah Est. Additionally, participated in the development of a General Ledger System and a Fixed Asset System. All applications were in Arabic and based on IMAGE/HP3000 database and COBOL. Also responsible for System Management of HP3000 systems.
Developed special Utilities and Routines for Arabization. Carried out conversion of existing software as well as data to HP Arabic.
Develop SW for Automated Test Equipment for PCBs
