Responsible for translating client expectations into practical project objectives and then developing plans to implement them.
Duties;
 Working closely with clients to understand their needs.
 Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the project.
 Arranging and managing all project related meetings.
 Attending client meetings & guiding them through processes.
 Producing timing, costing and scoping documentation.
 Establishing the overall success criteria for a project,
 including; time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
 Writing progress reports & presenting them to directors.
 Monitoring all work in accordance with schedules.
 Developing and reviewing study protocols.
 Maintaining project management plans.
 Monitoring and managing all contractors and
third party suppliers within each project.
 Juggling competing project costs to keep overheads down to a minimum.
 Deciding how much time to spend on specific tasks.
 Building consensus between different teams with the project.
 Deciding on whether to buy or lease equipment that is to be used on a project.
 Deciding how much to spend on material and labour resources.
 At the end of a project carrying out a final check to make sure that all commitments have been discharged.
 Being assertive with staff who are underperforming.
 Identifying log jams before they happen.
 Using risk management strategies to try to predict what can go wrong.
 Making sure that all project invoices are paid on time.
 Investigating reports of overcharging by suppliers.
 Making sure that there are funds available for overtime.
 Writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
 Meeting with project staff to outline work plans and to assign individual duties and responsibilities.
