1. Engineering of oil and gas EPC projects (onshore)
Water injection project for O& G reservoir, Gas handling & gathering project, Nitrogen generation package, Vacuum deaerator package, Process equipment desalter & three phase separators packages, Oily water treatment plant, RO system, API storage tank package, 24 and 36-inch gas pipeline projects etc. in Khurmala oil field, near Erbil, KRG- Iraq.
- Review, Comment and approval of FEED and Detail engineering deliverables, such as -drawings, P & ID, 3D model, Pipe isometrics, layout drawing, Specification, Data sheet, design & sizing calculations, Material requisition and inspection and test plan for the following equipment included in the above said EPC projects -
Pressure vessel, Heat exchanger, Condenser/ chiller, Air/Fan cooler, cooling tower, Oil & gas separator, API storage tanks, Air dryer, Sand filter, Carbon filter, Cartridge filter, HVAC system, Desalter, Induced gas flotation, Nitrogen generator, Vacuum deaerator, stripper column, HP/LP gas flare, Pig launcher /receiver, Valves, API Pumps, Chemical injection pumps, API Gas and Air compressor ( centrifugal, reciprocating and rotary ), Electric Submersible Pump & system, Gas turbines, Mixers /agitators, Air blower, Mechanical components, Piping and piping components ( barred tee, isolation joint etc.), pipeline 3LPE coating etc.
- Review, Comment, and approval of above-mentioned FEED and detail design deliverables belong to the disciplines: -mechanical, process, piping, pipeline, HVAC and structural from EPC contractor and Engineering consultants.
- Participating HAZOP & HAZID & SIL for major projects and carrying out review & follow up action to ensure the closing of technical issues & implementation of those safety recommendations.
- Tendering activities involving preparation of tender technical specification, Clarify Bidder’s Technical queries, technical bid evaluation & selection of qualified EPC contractor /vendor and engineering consultants for oil and gas EPC projects.
- Corresponding and follow up with Engineering consultants and EPC contractors, providing technical inputs, clarifying technical queries through emails and review meetings.
Rolls & Responsibility : As AGM heading both design and contracts department reporting to Director and handling a team of engineers (6 nos ) and involved in following activities.
• Design, detail engineering and techno commercial activities for static process equipment such as all kinds of process equipments, storage Tanks, pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchanger, piping, structural fabrication work etc in compliance with ASME, TEMA, IS, API, IBR code and standards .
• Study of the tender enquiry documents, making design proposal, cost estimation, submission of techno commercial offer, correspondence and follow up with clients for order finalization, design approval, closing of all shortfalls, appraising of job status etc.
• Contract negotiation (price, delivery, terms & conditions) to ensure successful order intake.
• Coordination, Follow up and driving the project activities among design, manufacturing, project purchase & QC, through progress review meetings & project status analysis
• Preparation of project time schedule & project cost management to ensure on time delivery within stipulated budget.
• Verification and approval of design documents such as design calculations using PV Elite or manual, detailed manufacturing drawings, BOM etc . Monitored team performance in delivering quality design output at right time.
• Appraising the status of project, proposal, and action plan etc to the top management.
• Supporting purchase in material sourcing, vendor selection, making specification etc.
• Liaising /interacting with third party agencies (TUV, BVIS, IBR etc) for design approval and stage wise inspection as per QAP prepared.
Rolls & Responsibility: AGM -Design reporting to Executive director and leading a team of 5 engineers and handled following activities
• Carrying out design, project management activities and execution of Vacuum heat treatment furnaces, other vacuum system projects and Pressure vessels.
• Giving design inputs to design team to prepare design calculations for pressure cum vacuum vessel as per code, Thermal calculation, Fluid dynamics, cooling system, vacuum system and all other mechanical system design calculation for total integrated /assembled vacuum system project.
• Verification and approval of design deliverables - design calculations, Layout drawings, P& I drawings, manufacturing drawings, BOM, specification, QAP etc.
• Preparation of project time schedule & project cost management to ensure on time delivery within stipulated budget.
• Cost reduction done through simplified design and optimum utilization of resources.
• Attending design review meeting and made technical presentation to the customer, ensured satisfactory closure of all the points with reference to Minutes of meeting and got the design approval on time.
• Liaising with Third party inspections agencies (TUV, Lloyds, BVIS) for inspection as well as certifications as per QAP prepared.
• Ensuring effective negotiation & finalization of critical/ long lead items with sub-contractors (vacuum pumps and components, pressure vessels, material handling, structural fabrications, control panels, insulation, heating system, cooling system and so on).
• Expedition of the Project progress internally through progress review meetings & Project Status Analysis as well as with the subcontractors.
• Supporting sales and marketing in handling enquires related to vacuum heat treatment furnaces and other vacuum system projects and offered design proposal as per requirement with all supporting documents and provided cost estimation.
• Preparing MIS reports & submitting to the senior management.
• Monitoring detailed project execution (MS Project) plan covering the various stages from customer order receipt to delivery
Rolls and Responsibility : As assistant manager (Design) reporting to Head of dept and led a team of 6 engineers for following activities.
•Carrying out Design & development and detailing of ASME U&U2 stamped static process skid mounted equipment package comprising of Piping, Valves, Instruments and E&I.
-such as skid/trailer mounted phase separator, surge tank, heat exchangers, cement silo, bulker, batch mixer, storage tank, Acid tanker trailer (ASME T stamped ) & other pressure vessels . used in well testing & well service for oil and gas industries .
•Managing and mentoring the team of engineers to prepare design calculations, technical specifications, P& I diagram, BOM and detailed manufacturing drawing ( 2D and 3D) including schematic, Equipment layout, plate utilization & weld map.
•Monitoring the team performance, verification of the design deliverables and ensured timely release of error free design documents to client & vendors and for Manufacturing.
•Handling general administration of design dept and handling enquires for oil and gas projects, making design proposals and supporting /working along with sales team in techno commercial activities
•Liaising /interacting with approval agencies ( ASME authorized inspector and consultant) for
Design document approval.
•Carrying out follow -up action among sales, purchase, manufacturing and vendors to maintain the delivery schedule.
•Led the various functional teams & played key role in getting U, U2 & T code stamp accreditation to the company, as a significant contribution to the company.
•Imparted training on pressure vessel engineering, ASME codes, PV elite, Autodesk 3D inventor to team engineers.
•Effected cost reduction through optimum design which resulted in weight reduction, optimum selection of components, utilization of non moving stock & reduced manufacturing process.

• Design and development for high pressure & large dia Butterfly, Spherical, non return valves which are hydraulically, pneumatically & gear operated, and designed as per ASME Div1 and valve standard AWWA, ANSI, BS, API for the application in Hydro power plant and other water projects functioning as Turbine inlet valve, pump discharge valve, Penstock protection valve etc.
•Development of new products, (i.e. for special valves added from time to time) by making design drafting, prototype development and proving before they are handed over to marketing.
•Managing & mentoring a team of design engineers in preparing design calculation ( for valve torque, Head loss, Hydro dynamic, body flange, foundation details, sealing detail, other fluid & mechanical design calculations ), selection and sizing of actuators-electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic, technical specification, BOM & detailed manufacturing drawings.
