• Implement procurement strategy and policies. Forecast procurement needs.
• Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects. Monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base and implement plans to react. Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers. Lead the procurement group in all phases.
• Order goods and services as per negotiated and approved. Review quotations. Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions. Maintain procurement files. Track Purchasing activity and measurements
• Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships. Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for goods. Responsible for planning, developing and buying goods, parts, supplies and equipment’s in a timely and cost effective way; timely manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications. Dealing with suppliers & Brokers. Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new goods. Help to lower the cost and secure agreements.
• Timely purchase of materials requisitioned by Department Managers,
• Source suitable suppliers in the local and international market with good pricing and payment terms.
• Selection of vendors, evaluation of Supplier performance in regular intervals.
• Organize and co-ordinate the purchasing of perishable and non-perishable items as per approved specifications at the best terms from the right sources.
• Follow up shipping, transportation, insurance and commercial documentation of the purchased materials with minimum expenses to the company.
• Co-ordinate with freight forwarders for inspection and customs clearance of consignments, follow up on receiving and inspecting materials.
• Follow up with the concerned suppliers / agents for the reimbursements on rejected goods / credit notes.
• Monitoring stock movements and generate purchase orders to maintain optimum level of stocks as per the business requirement
• Procuring wide range of goods from overseas and local suppliers with high standards for quality, delivery and service at the lowest price.
• Inviting bid from suppliers for items and making recommendations based on cost, quality, delivery time and service before placing an official order.
• Taking in prices from various freight forwarders for ex-works deliveries, monitoring and tracking shipments till delivery. Ensuring the timely delivery of the goods.
• Maintaining a positive relationship with suppliers and evaluating their performance at regular intervals.
• Handling repairs of materials: handling shipment from site, corresponding with supplier, getting quotes, placing orders and sending back to site after repairs.
• Handling the Discrepancy and Damage Reports for goods delivered.
• Managing the department, coordinating with other colleagues during the absence of the Supervisor.
• Monitoring backload materials to stock.
• Monitoring material deliveries against ROS (Requested on Site) dates, identifying potential shortages and ensuring that corrective action is taken by the relevant department.
