Handwritten Malayalam Text Recognition- In this project we presented a level set based method for image binarization and character segmentation simultaneously. The performance
of the proposed method is validated using a large scale scanned printed Malayalam document
database which includes documents with different resolutions and backgrounds. Zoning is the
popular techniques for feature extraction in character recognition.
Ranking and Suggesting Popular Items- Ranking and Suggesting popular items based on user feedback. The goal is to quickly learn true popularity of items and suggest them. Used in search queries, social tagging systems etc. Several ranking and suggestion algorithms were used to implement this. The results show that randomized, light weight update rules without any special configuration provide good performance.
