Working as Proposals Manager within the company for projects under bidding including EPC and occasionally PPP projects, where THABAT is the sole bidder or in Joint Venture with other local and International companies. Main responsibilities include supervision and decisions on the following activities:
Scheduled communication with higher management about the current activities and load of the Bidding Department. Make live presentations and provide details on the bids under study to the management highlighting the key elements of the bids.
* Coordination with other departments (Engg., Finance, Planning Procurement…) for obtaining tailored information for specific tenders.
* Coordination with JV partners if the tender involves a JV partnership.
* Finalizing the estimated “Direct Costs” with chief estimators.
* Preparation of “Indirect cost” of the bidding projects.
* Seek Possibility for Value Engineering (VE) Analysis, if requested in the tender.
* Bid Evaluation and Preparation of “Top Sheet” of the company. (A summary sheet of all the captured Direct & Indirect cost heads, Overheads and Profit).
* For PPP or BOT projects, I coordinate with the partners to accommodate the EPC model within their “Financial Model” for the overall project submission to the client. It essentially involves providing the regular maintenance and major maintenance budgetary prices for the complete duration of the BOT contract.
* Strategical Assignment of uplift factor to the cost while finalization of the Priced BOQ.
* Initiate the Bid Closeout meeting with top management to validate the figures, fix the Overheads and Gross Margin to finalize the tender value.

From time to time, I am also assigned the position of Bid Manager for important projects under bidding stage including EPC and PPP projects, with THABAT either as sole bidder or as Joint Venture with other local and International companies. This position allowed for greater autonomy and flexibility to make decisions specific to the project.
