While Trading and indenting of Organic Chemicals is also part of company activities.

Completed recently a UPR/Alkyd/TPA Plant project from scratch to commercial production.
Also providing consultancy to another firm for producing Saturated Polyesters for Epoxy Hybrid Powder coatings.

start stage of Erection, and Promoted to DGM in
2006.
- Managed whole project for producing ALKYD & POLYESTER resin from Erection stage to Commercial Production, which included Liaison with Plant supplier ( Oliver & Battle, Spain) and designing team of Engg: Department of ICI, Slough, UK (for commercial aspects and technical aspects both), monitoring erection, testing and commissioning, selection of Manpower (Technical and non Technical). Launching commercial Operation in September 2003 .
- On Startup, Managed the company by controlling all Operations of the company including Production, Maintenance, Engg:, Planning, R& D, Q.C, Warehousing, EH&S, Materials Management, Sales, Finance and Admin:, implemented MIS from selection of Hardware and software to selection of staff and practical application.
- NIR became THE LEADING ALKYD RESIN SUPPLIER and important UPR supplier IN THE GULF REGION by 2008.
- In 2008, produced 2.5 times of rated capacity of the plant. As a result of this excellent progress, started expansion project by providing an additional reactor system (from ABB Cellier France), capable of producing Alkyd & Polyester both, and Bulk storage facility of about 2000 MT, to add further capacity of around 1200 MT/ Month or around 14000 MT/Annum. This expansion project Started production in June 2009.

During stay in this company, under a separate agreement also managed a project for establishing a Vegetable Oil Refining Unit (United Flowers for Vegetable Oils Co. Ltd) of 150 MT/Day capacity supplied by Desmet Ballestra, Belgium. The work done was full PROJECT MANAGEMENT, which included selection of plant supplier, Negotiations with selected plant supplier i.e. Desmet for final Technical and commercial agreement, selection of Manpower, Liaison with Desmet for technical & general details, sources & selection of proper Utility equipments (as per specifications from Desmet), contractors for erection of field and plant Equipments, vessels, fabrication & installation of Storage Tanks of a total capacity of more than 10, 000 MT, Fire Fighting system, and Electrical & Instrumentation work plus all Civil Work. By the time of leaving the company on 25th March, 2009, 80% of work was either finished or contracts awarded and work started. The agreement also included my services after startup of commercial production as ADVISOR for all affairs including Sales Management.

Also worked as Consultant to M/s Fashmi International, Karachi for production of unsaturated polyester Resins.

Plant Manager at Saudi Industrial Resins Ltd

SIR was producing Unsaturated Polyester, Alkyd, UREA & phenol Formaldehyde resins. Increased production from 350MT/Month to 2000MT/Month . Hence plant capacity utilization increased from 17% to 98%. The reason was Quality Improvements & Better Plant Maintenance. A number of alkyd products were developed at the plant. In Polyester Resins also some process modifications were made with successful results. Two expansion projects, one for new utilities i.e. cooling, chilling, Heating, Inert Gas generation and, the other for Vinyl Ester production through DCS System were completed. Computerized Maintenance Management System also implemented. Also managed a project of construction of a High class residential camp from designing to handing over stage.


Functions under control were almost all Factory affairs i.e. Process, Production, Quality, Training, Maintenance & Plant Engineering, Safety, and Security. Being an American Multinational's subsidiary, all environmental, health and safety aspects were taken care as per well recognized International and Ashland chemical's own standards. To make sure about proper enforcement, a Biennial OPERATION AUDIT was carried out as routine by Ashland's EH&S team.

Production Manager/Sales Manager at Euorasia Chemicals (Pvt) Ltd.

A) Since May, 1987 to August 1989 worked as ''PRODUCTION MANAGER'' at the plant producing Textile & Leather auxiliaries. Here being head of a small unit handled all the matter concerned with administration, maintenance, excise, RM & General purchase, production, management and personnel management.
B) Since September 1989 to May 1990 (1 YEAR): Worked as ''SALES MANAGER'' In this, capacity handled agencies of a number of international companies like AKZO, TATE & LYLE etc. Hence I coordinated with AKZO experts in trial production of penicillin at GLAXO Pakistan Ltd. Lahore Pakistan.

Production cum Quality Control Manager at Pakistan Polymer Products

Here in addition to the routine jobs, also was involved in the designing of the Polymerization reactor. Also developed and managed production of PVA (Wood Adhesive Grade), & Paint binder grade, and visiting customers on technical querries. Products produced in this plant were Alkyd Resins, Unsaturated Polyester Resins and Poly Vinyl Acetate emulsions.

Duties were debottlenecking in the processes by making trial batches in the lab, application of the results of trial batches at the plant and required in process testing for the batches running in the reactors at the plant.
