• Review contract specifications and project-related documents to interpret client requirements; prepare design basis, comment resolutions,
and establish equipment design criteria at project inception.
• Plan manpower requirements and supervise engineers, designers, and drafting team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of all
engineering outputs.
• Perform design and analysis of static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, knockout drums, flare
systems, and chemical injection skids in accordance with ASME, TEMA, API 650/620 and EN 13445.
• Prepare UDRs for all ASME-coded pressure vessels to establish design parameters prior to detailed engineering.
• Prepare mechanical design calculations (ASME Sec. VIII Div.1/2, TEMA, API 650/620), wind and seismic analysis, nozzle load calculations,
FEA reports, and fitness-for-service assessments.
• Develop plot plans, equipment layouts, piping layouts, pipe support layouts, and isometric drawings as part of overall plant design
coordination.
• Guide preparation of 3D models and lead 3D model review meetings with clients and project team members to validate design intent and
identify clashes.
• Lead development of general arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, part drawings, lifting/erection drawings, and nozzle
orientation drawings; review all drawings against design requirements prior to issue.
• Prepare equipment specifications and mechanical datasheets for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, and process
skids; prepare material specifications for plates, pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, and instruments.
• Prepare Material Requisitions (MR) and Technical Delivery Conditions (TDC) for procurement of equipment and materials.
• Review technical proposals, prepare Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and assist the procurement team with technical specifications;
manage pre- and post-order client and vendor interactions including resolution of design deviations.
• Review vendor-submitted equipment drawings and calculations to verify compliance with purchase order, project specifications, and
applicable codes; provide Vendor Document Review (VDR) comments and dispositions.
• Assist in ASME U and U2 certification audits by coordinating with QA/QC, the Authorized Inspector (AI), and internal departments
throughout the fabrication and inspection process.
• Coordinate preparation of FAT procedures, participate in FAT activities, and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure equipment meets
project and code requirements prior to delivery.
• Prepare and respond to Technical Queries (TQ) to clients; manage Engineering Queries internally; incorporate client comments and manage
document resubmission through the document control cycle.
• Coordinate with Piping, Structural, Instrumentation, and Electrical disciplines to clarify design requirements, resolve technical challenges,
and ensure alignment across all engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical resolutions to queries from fabrication shop and vendors to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing and site
execution.
• Attend technical meetings with clients and vendors to resolve design queries; liaise with internal departments (Projects, Production,
Estimation) and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment across all project stages.
• Participate in design review meetings, HAZOP sessions, and safety reviews; ensure all designs adhere to relevant engineering codes,
industry standards, and client-specific requirements.
• Prepare and maintain complete project documentation including design reports, calculations, datasheets, as-built updates, Management of
Change (MOC) records, and weight control reports throughout the project lifecycle.
