Security officers are briefed prior to deployment on a daily basis
Ensure all outstanding incidents from previous shifts are followed up on
Follow up on outstanding investigations, including taking statements, etc. as directed
Handover all relevant information to the departmental investigator to further progress the investigation
Regularly patrol duty post of security officer in conjunction with the Team Leader
Regularly check log books and other registers to ensure consistency and correct book keeping is maintained
Manage and monitor the ‘perspective security management reporting system’ to ensure it is completed and updated as required
Escalate incidents to the Assistant Security Managers that require further action in a timely manner
Counter sign log books and registers after each verification
Check function areas prior to, during and after functions
Report and follow up on all incidents
Manage evacuation duties
Respond to emergency incidents as and when notified and report back details to senior management
Manage the Security Response Team in the event of an emergency or crisis
Have comprehensive working knowledge on the cause and effect of the fire alarm system, locations of fire exit routes and firefighting equipment
Conduct training for Security Officers as directed
Ensure the Assistant managers are kept fully briefed and appraised of any incidents that occur or that are on going
Visit all sites which are under construction and ensure that all contractors are caring contractor passes in a visible position and using/wearing appropriate PPE
Liaise with other departments regarding security policies and procedures
Maintain relationships with other departments to ensure a smoother operation
Perform refresher training with all staff
Assist in Developing and presenting training regarding new developments, methodologies and procedures
Actively seek out information about changes in the property and personnel in the property and brief management on changes
Attend daily briefings with SBU management
Counsel security officers on all aspects of performance, attitude and professionalism.
Ensure that all personnel are competent in performing all tasks as described in the SOP’s
ADMINISTRATION
Conduct quarterly and annual appraisals of Security officers
Ensure daily briefing notes are approved prior to delivery by the Senior Security Officer
Check and approve all duty postings prior to publishing
Ensure all directives issued through the Assistant managers are clearly and accurately delivered to all Security Officers
Ensure all Security officers attend training courses and sessions as required
Collate and analyze all reports through the PMS to report trends and challenges to senior Security management for follow up and action
Assists the Security Manager/Assistant Security Manager in directing, supervising and participating in the activities of all security personnel engaged in the implementation of the property’s safety and security procedures.
Assists in developing safety and security measures to safeguard:
Escort VIPs and other guests
Under the guidance of the Security Manager, co-ordinates with outside police agencies in the investigation and handling of crimes, accidents, etc., involving the property, employees or guests.
To be familiar with all procedures related to fire prevention and evacuation and to ensure prompt decision making in line with the safety and security of guests and employees.
To ensure all logbooks and registers are maintained correctly.
Prepare daily incident reports, requisitions and other inter-office memos.
Ensures that all allegations of crime and other incidents are investigated, recorded and reported the Director of Security.
Maintain comprehensive key controls.
Is responsible for Found Property deposited with Security and for it’s safekeeping
Co-operates and assists with other departments in all related matters.
Performs regular tours reporting irregularities to the relevant departments.
Checks the performance of security personnel and reads logbooks, to determine if any follow up is required and corrects mistakes or inadequacies of security.
Assist Housekeeping/Front Office on opening room safes when required, in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures on room safes.
Maintain the integrity of the back of house locking system, with regard to key replacement lock issues
