RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare Technical Reports and calculations for Civil and Structural engineering deliverables on the Dubai Tram Project - Viaduct and Bridges Section on behalf of the Engineer.
• Act as point of contact and respond towards civil-system interface reviews to comply with system assurance plan.
• Project supervision and design review of structural works on viaduct, bridges (structural layout and longitudinal profiling -piers, bearing configuration and PT /tendons), soil walls, tram line. Execution and supervision works on pipelines, sewers, manholes, connection chambers and non-disruptive road crossings.
• Conducting inspections/commenting/closing all RITA/ITR as well as liaison on FCN and RFI from contractor, designer team and client.
• Review and approval/rejection of design, shop, red line, as-built drawings, CN, MS for track and foundation slabs, PT works, roads and utility, repair works, VSoL panels, multitubular power ducts, viaducts and bridges as per ES 1337/AASHTO LRFD in compliance with project specification requirements. Experience includes RSI and superstructure analysis on different stresses, displacements and rotation capacity based on UIC 774-3 standards.
• Review of Asset Management Principles: Viaduct Training Support, O + M Manual (Maintenance) System for Dubai Tram and Metro Project.
• Experience in Team leading roles with a team of multi-disciplinary inspectors.
• Prepare project progress reports for employer and other stakeholders on bi-weekly/monthly basis using Primavera/Project
• Taking Minutes from weekly meetings and orienting technical/design issues with the contractor.
• Prepare and submit QSO for contractor’s negligence and; review and close NCR based on appropriate corrective action and/or remedial plan proposed.
• Assist in conducting material inspections (ASTM standards) and external audits as required
• Assist in preparation of BoQ for road network, viaducts (pocket track, single track) and soil walls.
• Assist in maintaining and updating Project Risk Register.
• Project collaboration & online project management system -Aconex, to integrate, manage and communicate with employer and contractor through letters, internal momentums and other general correspondence.
• Inspection of personnel’s to adhere with project health, safety and Quality measures and policies.
• Monitoring Sub contractors to ensue guidelines/ project specifications are respected and objectives are met.

• Supervision and inspection of daily civil works which include foundation works, earth walls, concrete and steel structures, painting works, cable laying (trough and tray), APS (Box and cable), drainage, utility and pipe works based on RITA/ITR submitted by the contractor and conducting quality tests/NDT’s (as required) based on appropriate ITP/MS.
• Inspection of Track works and coordination with system drawings which include pre concrete, post concrete checks, fastening systems, rebar and track slab components.
• Raising QSO and NCR for quality control procedures and updating of project status monitoring log.
• Review of shop drawings, method statements, calculation note, design notes and material submittals for track slabs, VSoL panel based soil walls, multitubular power ducts, up stands, viaducts and bridges as per BS and AASHTO standards.
• Maintaining up to date work progress records and documents of change (FCN) and reporting to the Sr. Structural Engineer/Resident Engineer.
• Reporting to the management of all health and safety issues and carrying out risk assessment and applying risk control techniques by coordinating with the safety team.

• Effective management of the project in line with the scope of works &programme
• Co-ordination with ASP design, procurement, technical coordinator, supervisors and subcontract labor
• Timely completion of work in line with the QA/QC procedures
• Attending start-up and progress meetings
• Preparing programs& monitoring of progress for delivery & installation
• Daily/weekly/monthly job reporting (m2 installed, consumable usage, manpower, variations to contract)
• Co-ordination and communication with clients, site engineers, QA/QC, OHS and site managers
• Snagging management of projects
• Cost management including variation requests and related paperwork
