In order to be awarded the BSc (Hons.) in Applied Accounting degree, every ACCA student is required to submit a 'Research and Analysis Project' on a relevant topic. My topic was "The analysis of the business and financial performance of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Corporation (DU) over the period from 2012 to 2014". The analysis of DU was performed by bench-marking its performance against Etisalat. The sources of data for my project were: 1. Du's and Etisalat's annual reports and other investor publications. 2. Financial press extracts over 2012 to 2014. 3. Websites on Telecommunication, including Wikipedia. 4. ACCA Course material. Key graduate skills tested through the project were: 1. Analysis 2. Information Gathering 3. Communication with a mentor 4. Self- Reflection 5. IT Skills The project included referencing information sources and giving a presentation of relevant findings to the project mentor.
Was active in literary activities like public speaking and essay writing.
