Job Profile:

Assigned as Inspection Engineer in North Static Inspection team (ONO643) of M/s. Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) through Operational Inspection Services (OIS) contract with Hi Tech Inspection Services. Responsible for the maintenance and operation inspection of plant static equipments of Yibal Gas Plant, Kauther Gas Plant, Lekhwair Gas Plant, Gathering/Production Stations in Fahud and Yibal areas under North Oil directorate of PDO.

Monitoring and inspection of plant static equipments within established schedules, analyze inspection data, and recommend repairs to restore equipment integrity.
Internal & External inspections of plant static equipments i.e Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, Coolers, Furnaces, Heaters, Columns, Separators, Scrubbers, Knock out drums, Storage tanks, Piping etc as per RBI schedule and SAP notification.
Inspection of plant static equipments for mechanical and corrosion defects including welding, coating and non-metallic inspections.
Pre commissioning Inspection of plant static equipments and mechanical clearance
On-stream inspection of plant static equipments, associated structures and on plot piping to identify abnormal conditions, process leaks, CUI, etc.
Inspection of storage tanks i.e both fixed and floating roof tanks. (crude oil dehydration tanks, skimming tanks, surge tanks, water storage tanks etc)
Oversee corrosion monitoring and inspection activities of plant equipments for corrosion calculation, remaining life estimation and failure investigation.
Master use of inspection tools including calliper, micrometer, boroscope, infrared camera and pit gages
Identify requirements for use of advanced NDT methods e.g. Internal Rotary Inspection System(IRIS), Eddy Current Testing, Magnetic Flux Leakage, Acoustic emission, TOFD, shear wave and automated UT etc.
Coordinate the NDT of static equipments after determining the appropriate NDT method applicable to assess the equipment condition.
Co ordinate with NDT group for the UT Thickness survey of static equipments and on plot piping as per RBI schedule.
Co ordinate with operation and maintenance teams on day to day activities.
Review the UT thickness data of static equipments and on plot piping and oversee the timely updating of thickness data in computer based inspection database.
Witness the IRIS, ECT of Heat Exchanger tubes.
Witness the MFL scanning, Vacuum box test, Light diesel Oil test during tank repair.
Witness the Holiday testing of Internal/External coating of Pressure vessels and Storage tanks.
Prepare inspection work lists of static equipments & piping circuits during plant shut downs and co ordinate with operation/maintenance teams to finalize the inspection & testing scope of work.
Inspection of plant static equipments during plant/ unit shut downs
Prepare inspection reports of equipments based on inspection findings and recommend for repairs/replacement as per code and standards.
Review evaluation and interpretation of inspection findings, defects and repairs.
Witnessing the hydro static test / pneumatic test of static equipments as per standard.
Monitor the repair works of static equipments as per code/ standards for final acceptance after the required tests.
Inspection of pressure relief valves, witness and certify its calibration/testing.
Review and approval of repair packages of plant static equipments.
Prepare and issue final inspection report of plant equipments after the completion of recommended repair works.
Ensure equipment inspection records are kept up to date in the computer based inspection information system CIMS.
Participate in technical discussion to arrive at consensus with other sections for the effective implementation of inspection recommendations for the safe operation of the plant.
Assist in RBI assessment by providing required data.
Assist project section on needed basis regarding approval of vendor documents for new equipment.
Participate in failure and incident investigations.

 Review applicable documents such as method statements, inspection test plan, welding procedure specifications, materials specifications, drawing, NDT matrix, etc. prior to start of fabrication activities
