Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman is responsible for investigating complaints made against
the NHS or UK Government organisation. The Ombudsman’s office was losing significant amounts of time
and revenue by using an external facility for storing and retrieving customer’s paper records. A team was
created to review this process and embed an electronic record management system to achieve future
efficiencies.
* Conducted financial reviews to understand the quantum of actual costs and estimate potential
efficiencies if an electronic solution was implemented.
* Engaged the technical team to develop a new process which phased out retrieval of paper records
and introduced the new electronic retrieval/depository process.
