Job Description: Monitoring of all tools and equipment w/ generators having spill trays properly earthed w/ copper rod placed 1.5 m into the ground. checking of portable electrical equipment weekly register its wiring cables and switches casing and lubrication free from visible defect. all hand tools should have protective appropriate guarding system as installed by the manufacturer and have not been tampered w/. unaltered hand tools must be suitable for the activity they are being used for and workers must be trained in the correct usage of the hand tools and power tools as well. fire extinguishers monthly register checklist for inspection tag its pressure check, seal, nozzle and hose, pin, and damage fire extinguishers must be return to store and remove from site work.
Lifting accessories w/ ( SWL) or safe working load displayed a valid certificate in date and color coded according to quarter month. safety catch spring loaded to prevent slings from slipping from hook installed and a working condition.
Electricity cable arrangement not creating slips and trips and all electrical supply equipment been tested and appropriately color coded and have the correct loading to avoid overloading. all electrical distribution board have ( GFCI) or ground fault circuit interrupters residual current devise fitted and free from defect.
Housekeeping appropriate waste disposal area identified and signage posted w/ different types of material waste segregated and regularly remove to avoid build up. an adequate access/egress routes been identified to every work location maintained and clear of materials. and food waste in closed container regularly remove from work place and materials should be stored neatly on level ground and to a safe height.
Adequate and secured scaffolding w/ scafftag signed displayed w/ adequate top rail, 1 meter in height and mid rail, 50 cm height a secured and stable to building w/ adequate braced edge protection toe board, its plumb square level build on level ground using base plate and a safe access provided to all working areas a boarded walkways access on scaffold for potential hazards.
Compressed gas transportation well monitored and check by the supervisor as cylinders gases must be transported upright position using a cage or cylinder trolley tied secured in body not in the valves and w/ cylinder caps on. away from sources of ignitions, hot slags, flames, and from access stairways and elevators. stored in well protected dry locations and ventilated and isolated areas.detailing its labelled content and segregated by its type.
The cranes daily ( pre lift) checklist for rigging activities and its preparations and the cranes daily inspections checklist for its (TPI) or third party certificate, driving license, conditions of, hoist, hook latch, ropes, boom & jib, boom angle indicator, load chart, soil, hoist break & load, propel break & load, outriggers fully extended, conditions of slings and its certificate in placed and available in time lifting operations and also the crane operator fitness.
Engaged in MEP works such as hot work activities the precautions required such as cleared from combustible materials away from inhalation of fumes well ventilated. workers have the right ppe for hot works or flame resistant clothing, gas stored upright welding screens
available and fire extinguishers located nearby. also relevant method of statement and risk assessment in placed and also a fire watcher in attendance and written in the permit.
Enforcing STARRT card .or briefing procedures for supervisors for them to have a 360 look around identifying the hazards within the environment and for them to discussed the work activities through the workers.and in the briefing they will conduct on how they will eliminate each hazards in different work activities.
Giving risk assessment control measures, or further control measures to minimize the risk level by further safety measures to be taken by worker to reduce the chances of getting hurt or injured in such critical work activities for the workers to avoid further injuries or accident
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, to enforce and adapt and map out all health and safety programme by assigning responsibility to each required actions and setting a time frame for completions on each issues and deviation or non corrective performance noticed to any workers or supervisors unorganized in doing their jobs and violating the required precautions needed in their work activities and doing unsafe act and unsafe practices. and to educate them in the right health and safety responsibilities through good communication, cooperation, right control, and competitiveness.
