Project: Al Wafra Residential Tower (High Rise) - Al Reem Island Abu Dhabi
Responsibilities include the following:
1- Direct, develops, reviews and supervise the issuance of Shop drawings, material submittals, correspondences and technical documents
2- interpret and/or obtain technical clarification of contract drawings and specs
3- Administrate the Request for information (RFI) and request for change (RFC) and arrange the required communications with Engineer/Client to obtain final approval
4- Administrate the technical submittal process.
5- Coordinate the project specialist design process as the Project Design Manager. Follow up on Sub-Contractors deliverables to meet scheduled targets and milestones
6- Identify, develop and monitor the materials, shop drawings and technical deliverable list in accordance with level 4 program
7- Ensure proper implementation of the document management and control procedure
8- Liaise with Engineer on all technical/contractual matters
9- Lead the project Architectural and Structural engineers and draftsmen ( Act as the Main Structural Engineer on all structural engineering issues).
10- Act as focal point for BIM coordination with BIM specialist and direct to extract the required civil shop drawings.
Provide Leadership and direct support to Lead Structural Engineers to undertake their tasks actively and to ensure that the most effective and efficient design is adopted.
- Plan and co-ordinate design project activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and delivery
of project designs within schedule and allocated budget
- Develop and supervise design concept ensuring that all aspects are technically sound and compatible with contractual requirements
- Provide supervision and leadership on all technical and engineering matters. Review and
resolve inter-disciplinary issues to ensure the most effective and efficient design is adopted
-Liaise with client, site personnel and other departments to ensure that design aspects are addressed and resolved.
- Monitor progress of project, prepare regular management reports, address significant
variances in schedule or manpower with recommendations for corrective action.
- Maintain, develop and propose modifications to engineering policies and procedures to
improve quality and efficiency of designs while coordinating and consulting with QA.
- Supervise external subcontractors for specialized designs, define their scope and coordinate
their interface with project design aspects.
- Issue recommendations and lessons learnt for each project at completion for the purpose of enhancing performance and raising awareness for the next projects.

- Lead, supervise and guide structural teams in the preparation and co-ordination of design and/or detail drawings ensuring deadlines are met and that work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Program, plan and co-ordinate all structural design activities including ensuring accuracy, completeness and delivery within schedule and allocated manpower budget.
- Apply advanced knowledge and skills to develop design concept ensuring that all aspects are technically sound
- Provide supervision and guidance on all structural design and technical matters. Review and resolve interdisciplinary design and technical issues to ensure the most effective and efficient design is adopted.
- Communicate with design coordinator and other lead design engineers to ensure design proceeds according to plan. Provides design and technical assistance where modifications or variations are necessary.
- Attending site meetings when required to resolve structural technical matters
- Produce detailed structural designs and ensuring compliance with codes and standards using computer models or other means including preparation of Calculations involving seismic designs and wind designs.
- Develop and write structural specifications
- Preparing Material Requisitions related to pre-engineered buildings when required.
- Technical checking and evaluations of vendors’ technical offers.
- Develop solutions to complex design problems using initiative and own acquired knowledge.
- Provide supervision and guidance on all design and technical matters. Review and resolve interdisciplinary design and technical issues to ensure the most effective and efficient design is adopted.
