Responsible for the adherance of the department's to SGH Mission, Vision, Goals and Value statement and the quality management plans. Looks after the development implementation and the monitoring of the quality improvement plans for the department. Provides education to the department's staff on the quality improvement tools. Provides day to day coordination and guides department's and support service staff in the implementation of effective monitoring systems for Service Specific Reviews. Ensures the quality improvement studies or projects are syncronized with the hospital-wide "Priority Setting Criteria". Ensures the success of the monitoring and evaluation process of the department. Participates appropriately and timely in the clinical care reviews, medical records reviews, Quality improvement surveys, Occurence Variance Reporting (OVR), Infection Control Surveillance and other quality management activities.
•Teach and handle nursing and caregiver subjects.
•Prepare clinical focus.
•Participate in ensuring attainment of objectives of the college.
•Observe, obey and participate in the implementation of all policy governing the school both in the student level and in the administrative level.
•Participate in any faculty or committee meeting, convocations and other official activities at which attendance if required.
•Regular coordination with the Dean of the College
•Advisory and consultation to the students.
•Observe up-to-date submission of the following:
a.Classcards and gradesheets
b.Faculty clearance
c.Other requirement of the department
•Other related function.
Prepare the students before going to their assign area of duty.
Orient the students to their assign hospital exposure.
Give a return demonstration of all the procedures before going to their area.
Monitor and supervise all the students once they are in the area.
Give them their individual patient to take care of.
•Instruct and assist the student before doing all the procedures.
•Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients under medical-surgical ward, OB-Gyne ward and Delivery room, circulating on major/minor operations, Outpatient Clinic.
•Assesses patient health status by obtaining relevant information and identify patient’s actual and potential problems.
•Maintains ongoing assessment of patient status based on information gathered by interviewing and observation.
•Develop care plans using assessment data that integrates medical and nursing therapies including input from patient’s family and other health care team members.
•Collaborates with other health care team members in delivery of health care services for patients.
•Involves patient’s family and other health care team members in discharge planning.
•Implements patient care plan according to established standards and patient care priorities.
•Monitors patient for critical changes and initiates appropriate emergency procedures.
•Maintains a safe and secure environment for patients.
•Evaluates response of patient to plan of care and nursing interventions and revise patient care to meet changing needs.
•Provides timely, constructive feedback to peers and support staff.
•Supports unit, department and hospital policies and procedures.
