Hired as a (security) consultant by the board of the bank for providing strategic guidance to the Board of International Bank of Yemen with regard to technology, IT (security) infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT. Also provide guidance during selection, procurement and implementation as well as providing highly expert technical assistance.
Hired as an Interim CI(s)O/CTO (contractor) who advises/coaches Business Executives (CxOs), IT leaders (CIOs, CISO’s, and IT VPs) and Technology Providers on positioning, developing and orchestrating Technology and Information capabilities to optimise their business operations towards desired outcomes. Hired as contractor/Interim Programme Lead to direct comprehensive IT/Security Improvement Program, a $14M integration project undertaken following the acquisition of the Retail and SME Banking Business of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Charged with migrating two networks, environments, applications and systems while standardizing and improving security of all systems and processes/procedures. Review recommendations provide feedback on proposed solutions before acquiring signoff. Report to Group Chief Operating Officer. Managed five direct reports and 20 internal resources engaged in numerous specialties. Accountable for directing all “Change the Bank” activities with 16 activity streams including Disaster Recovery Rightsizing, Vulnerability Remediation, Monitoring, Database Upgrade, Future Enterprise Architecture, Data Center Rationalization, Network Redesign, Domain Optimization, UAT Optimization and improving IT Security, Policies and Procedures.
Promoted from initial role as Manager of IT Security to turnaround IT department and serve as CIO with full accountability over administration / improvement of company platforms, technology and related strategies including managing development projects to renew/refresh ICT systems when required. Scope of responsibility included Development, Operations, Business Applications Support and Delivery Channels as well as all ATMs and video surveillance activities. Controlled all ICT resources, development and projects to ensure on-time and within budget delivery of all business related ICT systems and services consistent with performance and quality standards. Performed Technical Risk Assessment setup and analysis of infrastructure raising risk when necessary and depending on analysis results. Administered OPEX and CAPEX budgets, served as key advisor for security and business continuity issues and managed 4 direct reports with a total of 40 IT staff.
