PROJECT SCOPE: . . . . . . . .The project is comprised of 128 Multi-storied Buildings, 2 Utilities Compounds, 27 11KV Power Substations, 2 District Cooling Plants, Drainage, Water Supply, External Chilled Water Network, Street Lighting, External Fire Fighting, Gas Network and Gas Plant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review and control of subcontract agreements with 5 No’s MEP subcontractors and other specialist suppliers.
2. MEP technical and planning review. Monitor and control the progress of MEP works.
3. Instrumental in leading a team of 5 MEP Senior Engineers, 45 Site Engineers and 14 Office Staff.
4. MEP works supervision, administration, QS, cost control, QA, and logistics activities related to MEP.
5. Staff appraisals, scheduling and assigning tasks and recruiting new staff.
6. Monthly and quarterly review of financial statements. Evaluating and certifying monthly progress payments.
7. Overview of initial budget and necessary follow up until project completion.
8. Negotiating supplementary work and variations with, client and MEP subcontractors.
9. Chairing weekly site meetings and overview shop drawings and materials transmittals.
10. Resolving technical and commercial disputes with the subcontractors, consultant and client.


HIGHLIGHTS:

• Played a stellar role in rescuing a failing project significantly behind schedule due to accumulation of technical problems, delays in approvals of shop drawings and materials due to ongoing disputes, all resolved by:

o Rescheduling operations and focusing on resolving outstanding problems; this resulted in saving a considerable amount of money for the company and allowed work to be accelerated and to proceed in rush program.
o Undertaking extensive review of the protocols for variation order evaluations, discovering anomalies and delays involving revision of procedures & stricter monitoring of subsequent proposals; this resulted in quicker acceptance by the client with and prevention in further delay in receiving payments

• Reorganized the operation teams by recruiting experienced 2 team leaders, redistributed and revised assignments of existing teams.

• Consequently, efficient & effective control and better quality achieved on work execution and client satisfaction was granted. All within the cost allowed by the budget and wherever possible saving was achieved.

• Overall result was smooth handing over acceptance by the client on completion of the project. Thus the company enjoyed reasonable snag list, quick final payments including profitable settlement of variations and claims.

• Excellent track record of representing the company in a major claim for losses against a client that collapsed due to deep recession in Dubai; liaised with a specialist Lawyer and successfully obtained a positive court decision thereby saving the rights of the company for reimbursement for the cost of losses

• Holds the distinction of being selected by Board of Directors to guide the production and sales teams for the separate HVAC factory owned by Almulla Group in Dubai; successfully developed their sales activities, recruited additional staff and added Abu Dhabi area for the factory sales areas; also managed complete administration of HVAC Factory

• Introduced special weekly meetings to review progress and to resolve all problems as soon as arisen; the meetings with the main contractors initiated very effective tool to keep tracking of monthly payments and variations evaluations and to keep them in control of early approvals and payments from our clients during Dubai recession

• Introduced the new client is the Engineering Office of Dubai Ruler H.H. Shaikh Mohamed Bin Rashid and was successful to obtain new contracts signed and with advantage of high cash flow specially that H.H Engineering Office was interested to maintain his good reputation by awarding contracts every now and then and further more by releasing monthly payments on time and every month without fail nor delay.

• Steered the acquisition of own personal KAHRAMAA Grade A Electrical Engineer Certification, thereby leading the organization to qualify for Class A Electrical Contracting License

• Excellent track record of delivering extensive high profile projects of 7 main schools involving upgrading of Al Sadd Stadium with a special HVAC System, totaling QAR 50 Mn; awarded 2 major buildings of library and research at Qatar University for value of QAR 50 Mn

• Instrumental in recruiting & leading a team of 6 Section Managers and Project Managers and 50 staff members with overall responsibility for 750 skilled/semi-skilled labour force

• The following are additional projects received from our satisfied Client due to excellent services and on-time delivery of projects under my MEP project management:

o Etisalat Dubai HQ and communication building project was awarded to MAPCO as a result of excellent satisfactory performance in Etisalat Abu Dhabi Project.
o By invitation in my name, Turner International the project manager of my project Etisalat Dubai, awarded my company AED500 M contract, MEP Package of Dubai Mall.
