Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, file servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems, adds or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment. Perform software and application installation, and upgrades.
• Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
• Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
• Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications, utilizing TCP/IP networking protocol.
• Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.
• Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
CERTIFICATIONS: CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate (640-607). CCNP Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) (642-901). MCSA Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. MCSE Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
