Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) for the development of the Somaliland social services and government institutions, Long term 2013 till Present: Management of the development of the project proposals, supporting team leader in the overall management of the SDF project. Coordinate and liaise with the sectoral ministries and national planning commission in planning and designing of the projects to be procured under SDF. Assist other cross cutting issues of gender mainstreaming, conflict sensitivity programming and reporting.
Led the programme/projects coordination including: livelihoods, researches and baseline studies, conflict assessments, human rights and peace building initiatives, capacity building of CSO and development actors, local governance strengthening, local economic development strategies with local municipalities and local administrations in Somaliland. Lead the professional documents translation and editing and proofreading. Participated in the design of the Monitoring and Evaluation strategies. Developed capacity building, mentoring and coaching plans for staff and with the help of staff training office track their development. Mentored staff to develop new concept papers, log frames and work plans.
UNOPS/Somali Support Secretariat, Somalia, (long-term, 2008 - 2009): Manage and administer the secretariat’s field operations by monitoring the budget, administering staff, procurement, logistics and finance as instructed by the Head of the Secretariat from Nairobi. Develop strategic relationships with counterparts in the relevant ministries, departments and humanitarian agencies with the aim of strengthening support services for development coordination activities in the field.
Support the design, planning and management of Muslim Aid country programmes including Health, Education, Water, Food security and livelihoods, emergency relief and micro-credit. Actively participated in the identification and formulation of the component projects in Somaliland programme (Health, WASH, Income generation, Education and capacity building). Developed and implemented, monitoring and evaluation systems to improve the efficient delivery of the programme. Established and maintained a network of donor and public information contacts. Monitoring of all the projects and field staff
Prepare and review the programme’s implementation plan. Maintain an overview of project financial needs and management. Ensure that financial reports were prepared on time and adhered to the donor’s financial reporting policy. Support project staff on the management of activities and beneficiaries. Maintain detailed co-ordination with prospective co-operating and co-financing partners and to formulate projects with all stakeholders. Regularly monitor and supervise the field activities of the programme in order to ensure the smooth running of the program and ensure if the program is towards achieving its goals. Collaborate and cooperate with the all program stakeholders and liaise with line ministries, departments and institutions.
Action Aid UK, Somalia, (long-term, 2003): Capacity building to Action Aid local partners including: Financial Management, Financial Strategy, Budgeting and budget management, Action and Strategic planning, M & E, Project design and planning and Proposal and report writing.
Swissgroup, Somalia, (long-term, 2000 - 2002): Provide financial management support across the country program. Develop, implement and monitor internal financial management control system. Enhance financial management capacity of local partners. Reconciliation of the accounts and ensure the proper utilization of program funds. Ensure that donor financial requirements are met. Maintain and overview of financial needs, financial control and management of the programme. Compile the projects financial information and budgets. Work with programme managers and coordinators to identify finance needs, financial management issues and develop strategies to meet them. Training of local partners in financial management systems.

Participated in a comprehensive Socio-economic Baselines Study, under UNDP’s Drought Mitigation and Sustainable Livelihoods Programme, in Sool, Sanaag and Togdher regions. (2005)
Participated in an Environmental Impact Assessment, involving socio-economic and hydrological studies, under a UNDP/Sheikh Zayed Foundation Water Supply Programme. (2006).
Contributed to an assessment for DANIDA-funded women’s economic empowerment project in Uganda. (2007).
Have contributed to a number of participatory poverty assessments with different NGOs.
